Designed and in the process of being built by Darwin Motorcycles with a full carbon fiber body created by specialists at Rahal Letterman Racing, this American Muscle/Sport Bike/Cafe Racer will be used to raise funds for the Steel Anchor charity organization (U.S. Naval Hospital medical research efforts). It will also serve as a prototype for a very limited series.
Named RLX, the bike will get its America power via a 132″ (2,163 cc’s) X-wedge motor from S&S, with a Baker Driveline (primary and transmission). Other parts include an Ohlins Performance suspension and wheels by Leroy Thompson. Graphics will be chosen to honor Rahal’s Hall-of-Fame racing career that saw him win three Indy Car championships along with the 1986 Indianapolis 500. The Speed Channel is documenting the progression of this project on their website. Darwin Motorcycles will also build the official 2011 Daytona Bike Week motorcycle.
Very nice project!
I can’t wait to test it the next year!!!
I wish you the best on this new challenge !!
I was wondering why they didn’t have OCC Build the Bike? Oh’ it’s the Speed Channel sponsering the “Gig” , not Discovery Channel !
Looks like a bike that is designed to actually work, not an art exhibit. Very nice, can’t wait to see it run.
love it. finally and state-of-the-art v-twin sport bike. hope victory or h.d. take note and add something like it to their model line.
Can’t wait to see the finished product. That thing looks like a real troublemaker!
As always Dar and Bryan are on the fast track with very cool bikes and designs..a question, does this model have an automatic fuel petcock by chance? Roadside marty
Is this going to be a “Raffle” where we can all have a chance or a “Auction” where only the Rich and Famous Elitist need apply?

Sounds great can’t wait to see it…….I also wonder what kind of price tag it will have?
