The Lone Star Rally in Galveston, TX is one of the largest ones in the country with organizers claiming to attract 350,000 participants. If you are on your way or already arrived, below a summary of the main festivities not to miss during the long weekend.
1- Every day (4th to 7th) Celebrity Bike Builder Lot at Pier 21, Harbor Side. Meet with Rick Fairless, Paul Yaffe, Jay Barbieri host of “Two Wheel Thunder”, Strip Club Choppers, etc. 2- Every day: Limpnickie Lot at the Pit Bar (2413 The Strand) featuring the next generation of Custom Builders- Entertainment featuring top Houston bands, alternative, rockabilly, Americana and skate music, At the Pit Saturday evening the 6th is Cycle Source Magazine Pinup Contest with winner professionally photographed as centerfold of the magazine. Event hosted by Jay Allen founder of Broken Spoke Saloon and Chris Callen, Chief editor of the magazine.
3- Every day: Michael Lichter Photography Exhibition at 2215 Strand Street,near Saengerfest Park, the epicenter of the rally. Exhibition will be open to the public Thursday through Sunday until 11:00 pm. Fans of Michael’s art will be able to meet with him 3 times daily (11:30 am-12:30 pm, 2:30-3:30 pm and 7:30–8:30 pm) to exchange stories about the photos and answer your questions. 4- Friday November 5th. Follow The Flag Ride For Heroes Down The Strand. The Flag Campaign began at ground Zero on Sept.11, 2010 with the raising of several flags that have been flown over several battlefields in Iraq & Afghanistan. A ride led by a Flag from Ground Zero will leave at 4pm from 3204 Seawall Blvd. Registration for the ride is free and each rider will receive a commemorative gift. 5- Saturday November 6th. Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show At Pier 21. All contestants must enter on 20th street between 7.30 and 9.30 am. Judging starts at 10an. Trophies at 5pm. See all events at Lone Star Rally.
