1- Harley Davidson Taps 3 New Advertising Agencies. When last August Advertising Agency Carmichael Lynch fired its 30-year client, Harley-Davidson made a statement saying it was not going to initiate a search for a new creative shop but would continue to work with a number of roster shops. Mark-Hans Richer, Harley’s chief marketing officer commented on the breakup by declaring: “Our strategies have been moving away from a singular consumer target and from a one-size-fits-all agency solution.” Retaining baby boomer clientele as long as possible, convincing youth – more women – minorities to ride one of their models. How? What is (are) the USP(s)? (Unique Selling Proposition) that the new ads will contain for each targeted segment? Harley-Davidson is turning to an unconventional marketing technique known as “crowdsourcing” as the source of its main creative marketing development. The company will draw on the ideas of thousands of its brand enthusiasts from around the world to help guide the marketing direction. I am impatient to see what will be the new multiple ideas and concepts that these agencies are going to develop for very different clients with very different taste and motivations without conflicting with each other.

2- Harley-Davidson spokesman Bob Klein confirmed that the company won’t seek corporate welfare or incentives from Missouri to keep its plant in Kansas City. Harley officials informed the Missouri Department of Economic Development of their decision. Now Harley-Davidson is free to address inefficiencies at the Kansas City factory the way they want without the reorganization to be approved by the State in exchange of tax credits. If a new efficient structure in Kansas City is not possible, Harley-Davidson already warned that all work will be moved from there to the York plant.

3- Sons Of anarchy TV Show. Sony Barger is a big fan of the hit TV series although he is quick to add that nothing in it is close to what was his everyday life. But he has been cast to play a small role where he is portrayed as one of SOA’s founding members . His name in the show is “Lenny The Pimp” and the episode where he is acting will air November 30th in the US.

I couldn’t think of a better spokesman for Harley than Keith Stone a perfect ambassador. All the advertising they need. LOL

Every mis-guided sterotype is exlemplified on the “Sons of Malarky” tv show, makes me want to puke! Feeding into the misconseptions that we who know have been battling all our lives. It makes it even more dangerous for us from the “citizens” by enhancing their already mis-conscrewed attitude towards us. Oh yeah the’re bad-ass allright. Got a AK47 on their handlebars but are afraid to ride without a HELMET!! Got to obey the law ya know. Smoking dope with the Chief of Police an’ killing everything an’ everyone around them. That’s bad fer buisness. Sonny how can you feed into this tripe, you got more class than that. If I came up to you an’ yer crew an’ called you “Lenny the Leech [or whatever]” I’d get the shit kicked outta me, or I’d kick the shit outta anybody myself that called you that! I Love an’ respect you man! Anywho, that’s my 2 cents worth. Wiz
