One of the ways to give a new gas tank the old school style, from the 50’s to 70’s, is to “Ax” and “Dish” it. Paughco offers this ready-to-install style in 4 capacities; 3.0, 3.5, 4.5 and 5 gallons with integrated mounts to install on most frame back bones.
Tank is fitted with a bung for cam-style gas cap and late model 22mm petcock. Dished side panels provide a unique canvas to apply cool art work or fill space for custom inlays. MSRP: $314.95. Visit Paughco Online Catalog or call 775-246-5738.
Dishing a tank out in he garage in the past was a huge job. Great tank, great ol school look a lot simpler then trying to do on your own giving more builders a bolt on great look and made in USA. Moving the cap way up is also a great feature.
Back in the day, when I rode a sportster, the first thing I did was buy a Paughco tank. Bigger is better. Chica does great work with this look.
I’ve got the little 3.0 gallon one on my Triumph Chopper and love it. Nice and narrow like the rest of the bike, and you can fill it right to the top to make the most of the capacity you’ve got.
Indian larry made it popular and loved every bike he made…RIP larry.
Paughco, You make good stuff that people want. Keep up the good work! Wiz
Love the tank. Its a bit pricey. With patients you can turn one out in the shop fairly cheap.
