When on October 16, 2010 I broke the news that Jesse James was closing for good West Coast Choppers, some of you panicked about not being able to get a CFL frame. As I suggested at the time, and it’s now confirmed, Custom Chrome is carrying the WCC CFL frame, available immediately. The first shipment of CFL frames has been delivered in time for the Custom Chrome Dealer Show, March 19th and 20th and are they are ready to ship.
Currently available in 38 degree rake and 2” Up and 2” Out or 4” Up and 2” Out configurations, the CFL frames are among the most famous V-Twin products ever developed. Used by thousands of builders and the backbone of literally thousands of custom bikes, the WCC CFL frame has become an industry standard over the years. Each CFL frame comes with a side fill cylinder style aluminum oil tank (WCC logo on both sides), spider web style battery box with chrome bracket, axle kit with WCC logo covers, spider web gusset and internal fork stops. The frame neck front is covered with a brass WCC logo. The CFL frame kit can be used with Evolution style drivetrains and 180-200 series rear tires. Custom Chrome Inc.
Jesse is retired from the motorcycle industry. So, who makes the frame?
It’s a classic. But very expensive.
This bike is not the best representation of what can be done with the CFL frame. Notice that JJ never built a bike over 200 mm rear tire.
Right on Matt. I hope they are not being made overseas as now it will be hard to tell when buying used if it is a genuine WCC frame.
My guess, Paughco. because of all the former cci guys now working there
Daytec is producing the frame…looks good USA made. I saw one of them in the Cinncy pics. Shifter: JJ built several bikes over 200mm tires. I dont understand your comment.
hmmmm 666 im thinking your right and i believe i know why ? . jus saying
One of JJ’s first big tire bikes was the orange Diablo, I believe. Heard that his parts line will continue via Custom Chrome while he pursues his speed shop interesrs in Austin
Daytec in Hesperia,CA are making the CFL frames. Jesse said that he used Daytec frames to build bikes before he built his own frames. Not built at WCC, but still made on the West Coast.
Thank god they’re back in production. I didn’t know what I was going to do.
I like LOUD pipes.
That picture has to be a CFL that was put together by Custom Chrome. LOL
So, since JJ is not making the frames, I guess the most accurate description would be that JJ has apparently licensed the CFL brand to Custom Chrome, who are now getting the frames made by an alternate supplier.
In other words, it’s a “CFL” in name only.
Mike. Because you think that JJ was making the frame himself at WCC? Of course not. Daytec has always “helped” him.
The frames are being built by Daytec under a licensing agreement with GH Marketing and sold exclusively to Custom Chrome. Their will be more JJ product to follow.
cool….. I just want a short sleeve CFL leather jacket….. damn, I should have bought one when i had the chance.
but where can I get a WCC teeeeee shirt? where? please tell me it’s not to late….
Just to clarify…
There is a METZELER ME 880 180/55X18 rear tire mounted. More details of the bike are shown at: http://www.custom-chrome-europe.com/cfl_bike.html?&L=1
Thanks a lot Grady…Dealers here in Europe are happy to get them again in American made quality!
Notice that JJ never built a bike over 200 mm rear tire.
not sure if u mean built a bike for a customer or sold a frame??
JJ dominator frames IMO are still one strongest framed built…….also the frame he was showing in sturgis in 08??09?? at the FTS was a real nice frame, and i think it was a 200+ tire frame
here is one with a 280-250 tire?

“…the backbone of literally thousands of custom bikes, the WCC CFL frame has become an industry standard over the years…”
Not much of a custom bike then, is it?
I think it’s a win, win, win. One for all who wants one (pretty obvious why), one for CCI(law of supply and demand in action), and one for JJ (pay up sucka)
A cool positive for the industry…
Your welcome Axel, all US made on JJ’s tooling slightly improved.
@1550tc I couldn’t agree agree with you more on the Dominator. Epic.
The Dominator will be next
