10000 americans died and 15 billion was spent to kill one man????
that comes out to what 75 million per pound????

  3. 3 Gas Man May 2nd, 2011 at 11:32 pm

And the record show… if you screw with the USA, we will kill you, even if it takes 10 years. Is this a good or bad thing? You’re choice.

  4. 4 Joe May 3rd, 2011 at 12:08 am

They got him in Abbotobad. It’s right next to Costellobad.

  5. 5 Dave Blevins May 3rd, 2011 at 12:15 am

War against terrorism… 15 billion dollars
Current gasoline price… 4 dollars per gallon
    Osama Bin Laden dead… priceless

  6. 6 Free Rider May 3rd, 2011 at 2:53 am

He might be dead but not killed !!

  7. 7 baddad May 3rd, 2011 at 3:25 am

On symbolic level it is good, but real problems are even bigger than 10 years ago.

  8. 8 zyon May 3rd, 2011 at 5:55 am

Is the death of one man, who was not even in “real” power anymore just to satisfy our blood lust worth making him a martyr to those will actually get off their butts and come over here to blow us up. Isn’t the “real” mastermind behind 911 already sitting in GITMO?

Now maybe we can focus on making peace and getting our economy under control. I’m a right-winger so I don;t mind war, but enough is enough. What are we going to do when the US is so broke we can’t borrow the money to fund our military. We are playing right into the world’s hands and eventually, they will win and we will lose. America is going broke and just like any other business that goes broke and does not have ANY leadership to fix the issues, the doors close and someone else takes over.

  9. 9 fausto May 3rd, 2011 at 6:26 am

Be extra vigilant now-I`m sure there are people out there that will be looking for revenge.

  10. 10 Larry May 3rd, 2011 at 7:00 am

Zyon. So you are a right-winger loving war? See the results of Bush and of your right winger friends stupidity. War against terrorism is not fought with an army but with counter-terrorism. In 2012 vote Obama instead of believing republicans’ bs.

  11. 11 Donnie May 3rd, 2011 at 7:10 am

If the US is bankrupt it’s because of the lack or regulations for Wall Street and banks, the ones financing republicans. How much costs the wars? WS and banks created the mess under dumb Bush. Republicans try to handicap Obama in his efforts to put back the country on its feet. They just want the mess to continue until the election, hoping to be elected. It’s not going to happen. Obama will have a second term and make the country healthy again.

  12. 12 Doc Robinson May 3rd, 2011 at 8:32 am

If the US is bankrupt? If? Donnie there’s a $300 trillion time bomb out there just waiting to explode. Do you, or most citizens, even understand how many zeroes that is? I suggest that if this once great world leader is ever going to be more than a huge debtor country sliding down the socio-ecoonomic ladder, then its citizens have to firstly learn to buy American, and American only wherever possible. Next time you are on the freeway, try and count the American cars. Sadly, there’s just the odd one here and there among the imports. And if anyone reading this owns a foreign car or motorcycle, then you are a part of the problem, not the solution. That’s an indisputable fact. Buying American isn’t by any means the whole solution, not by a long, long way, but it is a start that every American can participate in.

  13. 13 Paul May 3rd, 2011 at 9:09 am

That’s right, fausto. MIssion accomplished, but it will end nothing. We all know terrorists don’t play by rules. We gotta think Bin Laden had contingencies and his followers will enthusiastically carry on. Like Larry said above, it’s all about counter-terrorism.

The Israelis continued their assassinations 15-20 years after the 1972 murders of their Olympic athletes by terrorists. Although it is grim business, the US can’t stop now. Our security has been top-notch since 9/11. It’ll have to remain that way for the next 10, 15, 20+ years.

  14. 14 hoyt May 3rd, 2011 at 9:51 am

Dave Blevins – you’re short by over 85 B (that’s a “B”) illion dollars when accounting for the Iraq Invasion.

    Zyon – “I’m a right-winger so I don’t mind war.” – now that is priceless.

Um….Donnie…the US is broke because of wallstreet and the banks???
Really? Seriously? People actually believe that????
    The two dont correlate.

Thats like me sayin– ” My wife bounces checks, becauase of custom bike builders…Cause if they didnt build so many damn custom parts, I wouldnt be buying shit all the time, therefore there’d be $$ in my bank account…”
Yeah, thats right—its YOUR fault I’m broke!
No mention that I cant balance a bank account–you shouldnt be allowed to temp me with your goods…..

Sorry bud—-I AM wallstreet…and I didnt have nothing to do with the probs in the country….

I can assure you, brother….I’ve got PLENTY of regulations…More than any profession you can think of.
If ANY of the builders we celebrate had to comply with HALF the crap I do in my business….well, I guess we’d have about half the builders, huh?

It is a sad day when a life has been taken and others celebrate no matter what the cause shows how similar we all are as humans and that we are all full of hate.

They celebrated when they brought down our towers now we celebrate as the leader is gone neither side has gained anything only loss of money and lives.

Hopefully this will lead to less lives lost and get us the hell out of the middle east.

    Bring em Home Obama !

    Warning:

Hackers today stepped up their use of Osama Bin Laden’s death by shoving malware into PCs when users fall for phony claims of photographs and video, security researchers said today. “It’s not really surprising,” said Mikko Hypponen, the chief research officer of Helsinki-based F-Secure. “We were expecting to see related malware.”

The shift to direct attacks follows Monday’s campaigns to push fake security software, dubbed “rogueware,” to both Windows and Mac users.
Earlier today, F-Secure warned users to steer clear of spam that included the “Fotos_Osama_Bin_Laden.zip” archive attachment. The messages claim the file contains photos of Bin Laden after he was shot and killed by U.S. special forces during a 40-minute firefight in his compound in the northern Pakistani city of Abbottabad.

Running the resulting Windows executable file doesn’t display photographs, but instead launches a new banking Trojan horse belonging to the three-year-old “Banload” line, said Hypponen. The malware sniffs out online banking sessions and then tries to redirect payments to other accounts.
Other security companies have also snared malware packaged with Bin Laden spam.

Today, Symantec said it had found email messages touting photos and video of the U.S. attack’s aftermath. The messages, which so far have been written in French, Portuguese and Spanish, lead users to a fake CNN Web site where they’re told to download video. As in the F-Secure instance, the download is, in fact, a “dropper” that in turn downloads malicious code to the Windows PC.

Bin Laden scams are also spreading quickly on Facebook, Hypponen and others said.
The latest scam plays on the reputation of Wikileaks, the organization that has leaked thousands of U.S. military and diplomatic messages during the last year.

“Osama is dead, watch this exclusive CNN video which was censored by Obama Administration due to level of violence, a must watch,” claims the Facebook spam. “Leaked by Wikileaks.” According to U.K.-based Sophos, the Facebook messages don’t play video of the al-Qaeda leader’s death, but actually dupe users into copying and pasting a line of JavaScript into their browser’s address bar.

Cyril thanks and iam suprized their even targeting mac users 🙁

  31. 31 Nikki May 3rd, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Thanks for the warning Cyril. Very sneaky. But do you really want to see pictures of him dead….kind of gross isn’t it? I suppose it might make some people feel better.

@Donnie – “Obama will have a second term and make the country healthy again.” hahaha right. What Obama are you talking about? Oh, the one who put our country an extra $4 trillion in debt? Bush added under $500 billion in his term yet Obama managed to add an extra $4 trillion in half the time. That’s TRILLION. What would happen in another term? How could someone who has done this much damage to the country in 3 years be able to make the country better in another term? They don’t, period. Wishful thinking Donnie and Larry.

  32. 32 Donnie May 3rd, 2011 at 5:22 pm

Nikki. Simple. Money spent by Obama was “necessary” because of the state in which Bush left the country. So you can put the $4 trillion on Bush tab.

  33. 33 Donnie May 3rd, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Nikki. I think I know who you are and work at Kuriakyn. Right? Your company does all its parts in China. You participate to the deficit and you accuse Obama! You are with your company what is wrong about this country. Shame on you for your hypocritical comment !

Let’s be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American soldier, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did. Obama just happened to be the one in office when our soldiers finally found OBL and took him out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!!

  40. 40 Boss Hawg May 4th, 2011 at 11:25 am

I have to agree with Conrad…and American Victory.

    Boss Hawg

  41. 41 hoyt May 4th, 2011 at 11:34 am

    Conrad –

It would be interesting to read your comments about Bush if soldiers had accomplished this kill 8+ years ago like they all wanted to do instead of going to Iraq. The USA can do great things when we put our minds to the task. Clearly, our leadership from 2003 – 2008 was focused on Hussein and we accomplished that task; but it caused a divide all the while the prime suspect was treated as secondary at best.
I too see this as an American victory and a chance to unite the country again (with agreeable differences); but your comment continues to play into the right-left divide.

    Dave Blevins –

“I really don’t care what it cost (has cost), or will continue to cost. I’m just glad that scum is DEAD.”

Ok, I hope you aren’t one of the ones who complain about spending because the Iraq Invasion continues to be a Large portion of the US spend (huge somes of cash & human resources continue).

    Nikki –

Do you really think the costs of the Iraq Invasion have stopped? That tab is still running

  42. 42 hoyt May 4th, 2011 at 11:54 am

    “Buy American” –

good idea, but it is not that simple. You have to admit the American auto industry fell asleep during the 80s-early 90s with quality and innovation. (if you don’t believe that, the execs. of the Big 3 kind of admitted to that when they had their hand out).

What if American companies never had health care costs on their financial statements like most of their competitors in other lands? It is likely this extra cash would add to the renewed innovation and quality. In turn, American products would blow the competition away, which makes “Buy American” an easy choice for all the RIGHT reasons (free market), not simply a patriotic, uncompetitive one.

It would help if Polaris purchased EBR too so I can afford one of his bikes. Otherwise, there isn’t an American offering suited for my cycle needs right now.

  43. 43 Toby May 4th, 2011 at 5:46 pm

  46. 46 hoyt May 5th, 2011 at 10:04 am

Dave – I care not if you complain about lack of full names. Saying you don’t care about how much something costs in terms of a mission that did not track down the prime culprit is stupid.

If your family member was murdered on 9/11, you’d want the right guy tracked down with all of your being.

  47. 47 live2rideaglide May 5th, 2011 at 3:26 pm

Good one Boss Hawg! Freedom has always been costly. I don’t want to hear about how much the hunt for Bin Laden and the war on terrorism has cost us in dollars and cents. How about the price our nation paid on Sept. 11 when 3000 of our citizens died ? How about our heroes who died on the USS Cole? All the whining pantywaist liberals who are out there crying about this fight aint never got it. It’s us against them and our brave and capable Navy seals and Army rangers and Marines are kicking Sheria butt all over this planet. What Bin Laden got the other night was justice. A vicious criminal who hated our guts and killed thousands got what he deserved. My Navy bumper sticker says , Life , liberty and the pursuit of all who threaten it . Who cares what the MUSLIMS think, if they live here and eat America’s food and breathe her air their first allegiance should be to AMERICA not the fly ridden , pest hole they left to come here. God bless America and her soldiers , our heroes.

what don’t you get about leading the right mission at the right time? That’s the point, not just dollars and cents.

you write: “How about the price our nation paid on Sept. 11 when 3000 of our citizens died ? How about our heroes who died on the USS Cole?”

Exactly! Even more of a reason to lead the right missions at the right time.

assume Iraq wasn’t invaded and we put bin laden at the front of the missions…

You don’t think Hussein would have thought, “Holy shit!, the US just came into Pakistan unnoticed, terminated their target, and then they were out in 40 minutes!?”

Ghadaffi should be thinking about that mission as he goes to sleep each night now.

  50. 50 Wiz May 6th, 2011 at 3:55 am

  51. 51 live2rideaglide May 6th, 2011 at 10:43 am

Hey Hoyt , Hussein is dead. Bin Laden is dead. Sounds like the ” right ” mission to me. Our heroes got the job done by following the orders they received , I will not second guess their effort, commitment or ability. I do get it. Every war we have ever fought to gain or preserve our freedom has been expensive, both financially and in lives of our citizenry. From the Revolutionary War to World War I and II , Vietnam to Iraq it has always been costly , bloody and deadly . If we only fight the convenient, cost-conscious battles we will not remain free for very long. For sure hindsight is always 20/20 and we can analyze the process to the most peonic level , but in the end it will be what it was and it took what it took and I am ever thankful of those who pay the price .The ones who can’t take time to balance the books before they act. I appreciate and understand where you are coming from and I am also appauled at the high cost of money and human life it takes to keep our nation free , but my friend I do get it. FREEDOM is not expensive , it is PRICELESS. All we can do is hope and pray that the next time , there won’t be a next time. God bless America and our heroes in uniform.

I have not second guessed the soldiers’ efforts, but questioned why would the leadership of the country not track down the #1 suspect of the 3000 murders on 9/11 first and foremost? You even made reference to this: “How about the price our nation paid on Sept. 11 when 3000 of our citizens died ?”

Calling bullshit on the “pre-emptive strike” jargon leading up to the Iraq Invasion all the while bin Laden was getting away was not hindsight 20/20.

  56. 56 Cam J. May 9th, 2011 at 3:17 pm

I am just curious, for you guys that are talking about the wars, the right time and wrong time and all of this other bullshit, have you ever been to war? Have you ever even been in the military? Well I am in the military, have been for 21 years and have served 5 combat tours. I am here to tell you from experience that timing is not the problem with the wars. It is all of you LIBERAL FUCKS out there that have forced our government to have us be so politically correct that our hands are constantly tied. We are forced to be peace keepers, nation builders, police officers, and other bullshit things when we should be able to just be the worlds best fighting force, as we were trained to be. I feel very confident if it were not for all of the liberal political bullshit that we had to contend with on a daily basis, while also trying to fight the war, that we would have gotten OBL long ago, both wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, would now be over and no other nation on earth would dare screw with us because they would know the consequences of doing so. That is the way it really is!

  60. 60 hoyt May 10th, 2011 at 5:29 pm

You cannot re-write history no matter how much you try.

“timing is not the problem with the wars…
forced our government to have us be so politically correct”

    what?

Bush was in office 2000-2008. Conservatives controlled Congress from 2000-2004. The Republican Party kept control of both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate until 2007.

You can’t have much more power. (you can’t have much more incompetence during that era, either)

“Forced to be nation builders”? Laughable. That is what Bush yacked about NOT being during his 2000 campaign. In March of 2003 he invaded a nation in the name of “Freedom loving”-nation-building. At least that’s what he told people who can’t think for themselves.

  61. 61 Cam J. May 10th, 2011 at 6:52 pm

Hoyt, you did not answer either of the questions I asked, but that is alright because I think I already know the answer. It always amazes me how people such as yourself seem to have all of the answers about things they have never even done and never will do. You can believe whatever you choose about the wars but I know the REAL truth. I have been there and done that and I don’t remember seeing you there.

  62. 62 hoyt May 10th, 2011 at 7:04 pm

Cam – your bitch above is nothing but lame ass excuses. You can’t handle the fucking truth.

  63. 63 Cam J. May 10th, 2011 at 7:25 pm

Hoyt nothing I stated above is a bitch or an excuse so I am not sure what you are reading. I did, however, state the truth and it seems as though you are the one that can’t handle it. Remember I have been there, have you?

  64. 64 hoyt May 10th, 2011 at 8:07 pm

no excuses? re-read your 1st comment. The “liberals did this and that”, meanwhile conservatives had all the power. (I’m registered Independent)

Even if I haven’t been to war, citizens of the ‘land of the free’ have every right to speak and question what is going on in their country. That’s why our voluntary military fights, right? Is that right?

Truth in the military? Ask the Tillman family about that.

  65. 65 Cam J. May 10th, 2011 at 8:51 pm

Reading your comments it sounds as though you just don’t want to accept the real truth. Since you brought up the Tillman family, I have actually talked extensively with Pats brother Kevin about the entire thing, because I actually know him. So once again, you are trying to talk about things that you do not know shit about. Do you know the Tillman family at all? I bet I know the answer to that question already also.

  66. 66 hoyt May 11th, 2011 at 10:50 am

State exactly which comment illustrates me not accepting the “real” truth? Which one?

No, I do not know the Tillman family but I’ve read “Where Men Win Glory” and have watched the CSpan testimonials. What part of my statement above referring to the Tillman family’s search of the truth from the military is not accurate?

Pat Tillman’s own journal talks about the missions in Iraq vs. Afghanistan in the same way I commented above. To which your reply was, “I am here to tell you from experience that timing is not the problem with the wars. It is all of you LIBERAL FUCKS…”

It is you that just won’t accept the real truth in reference to the comments within this post.

  67. 67 Cam J. May 11th, 2011 at 12:34 pm

Hoyt you just made my point in your last statement. All of the things you THINK you know came from reading them in a book, seeing it in the news, or some other second or third hand knowledge. The things I know about the wars are because I was there and lived them or know people that were involved or have first hand knowledge. People like you are part of the problem in this country. You think you know all about things you were never a part of. In one of you posts above you made reference to this being the “land of the free” and you are absolutely correct in that statement but you must remember that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE. So, what have YOU done for your country today? If you want to know the real truth about war and how liberal VS conservative policies affect this country from the military standpoint, go out and visit some of the VA hospitals or any other facility where veterans are being cared for and talk to them so you can get the REAL truth and you can stop arguing with me about what is the real truth and what is not. Until then, you are still just part of the problem not part of the solution.

The Tillman family (that you allegedly know) are lying in a book and during a Congressional hearing ? The latter is not news, but live footage via C-Span. Read my comment above again.

Pat Tillman also lied to himself when he wrote in his own personal journals about wanting Afghanistan to have priority over Iraq?

If you know the Tillman family, you would know most of them are progressive thinkers. The same mindset that you disrespect above with “LIBERAL FUCKS”.

You have a chip on your shoulder and think in general terms.

“People like you are part of the problem in this country.” –

Look in the mirror. A Trillion dollars spent on invading Iraq produced what for the United States? (since you were there or know people that were there….)

Hoyt, don’t put words in my mouth axxxxxe. I did not say anything about the Tillman family lying about anything so don’t try to make it out to be that way. My point was not about the Tillman family, it was about you thinking you KNOW something because you read it or watch it on TV. Also, I never said that I knew the Tillman family I said that I knew Kevin Tillman, not the entire family and it is not alleged, it is a fact. As far as having a chip on my shoulder, when dealing with shitbags like you I sure do because you are one of those people who all you can do is get on the internet and talk about things you read, heard about, or watched on TV. It is funny that you tell me to look in the mirror because every time I do look in the mirror I see a person that has, and still serves his country honorably every day. I was there during the initial invasion into Iraq and my team was the first Americans to arrive in our assigned city and because of that I was able to witness FIRST HAND the gratitude from the local people as they thanked us for liberating them. This is the kind of thing that someone like you cannot understand nor ever will understand because you did not experience it. So, you tell me to look in the mirror… I am more than proud to do so because I know all of my accomplishments and sacrifices that I have made for my country. Now back to my previous question: What have YOU done for your country?

Name calling suits you perfectly. Weak.

I did not put words into your mouth. You said, “All of the things you THINK you know came from reading them in a book, seeing it in the news, or some other second or third hand knowledge” …as though all the truth that one can learn can only be obtained by invading a country first (without any prior critical thought).

The points I have made in this post all pertained to the timing of a mission. I referenced Pat Tillman’s journal about his thoughts on the missions between Iraq & Afghanistan when you blamed liberals for not being able to win both wars and capturing/killing bin laden by now. Again, conservatives had all the power. That truth is obviously killing you because you have not replied to those comments at all; but you do keep introducing other topics such as “FREEDOM ISN’T FREE.”
It isn’t free, especially under the weight of a trillion dollar debt stemming from an invasion that amounted to a nation-building and police keeping mission.

Regarding liberating Iraqis and the liberals that, using YOUR words, “…LIBERAL FUCKS out there that have forced our government to have us be so politically correct that our hands are constantly tied. We are forced to be peace keepers, nation builders, police officers, and other bullshit things”….

    1. Much of the Arab world proved they can liberate themselves without any of your help.
    2. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice and the rest of the conservative-controlled government are the ones that invaded Iraq. The liberals’ hands were tied-up in bullshit such as “you are either with us or against us.”. It was your conservatives that forced you to be the proud liberating police officer, not the liberals. In fact, one of the only Senators to vote No to this police-keeping, nation-building invasion is in the White House now.

What did I do for the country today? I called bullshit on a supposed soldier who talks in circles. If it is any of your fucking business.

Wow hoyt, you call me weak and then the only thing you have done for your country is try to degrade a soldier. Yea, you are a real man and a great American……NOT! It is a shame you have such disregard for the American military to say we are not able to win both wars. Something that you did not reply to was my comment about going to visit and talk with our countries veterans and wounded warriors to get the truth. I don’t know what I was even thinking by mentioning doing that to someone like you because with the obvious disregard you have for the American military that will never happen. Hoyt, you are nothing but a piece of liberal shit and a detriment to this country and I think that the majority of other people that read these posts would agree to that also. I would love nothing more that to one day meet you face to face, so I can spit in it. Because that is all you deserve from an American soldier.

God Bless The United States and those that served proudly. I am a Vietnam Era Veteran and damn proud to have served my country. I say nuke em, be done with it and don’t tread on us!

Alternative, shuffle Wall St. to the side, charge the same for a bushel of corn or wheat as they do oil to all oil producing countries. Additionally, to those lame asses that haven’t served (more damn keyboard commandos here, than I venture to say, you know who you are) should either support the United States or go fuck themselves and move the fuck out.

AMEN Boss Hawg! Well Put! Thank you for your service to our great country. It was all of you guys and the ones before you that paved the way for all of us serving now. So again, Thanks.

Cam – you are the one that is now putting words into comments in not one, but 2 ways:

    1. Where did I say we could not win 2 wars? Nowhere! Point it out.

historical fact: The Taliban did re-gain strength in Afghanistan during the Bush years due to the Iraq Invasion, so it is fair to say we were not progressively winning the war in Afghanistan.

historical fact: In my 2nd comment above my words were positive in our abilities contrary to what you are trying to write about me:
“The USA can do great things when we put our minds to the task. Clearly, our leadership from 2003 – 2008 was focused on Hussein and we accomplished that task…”

    2. If you are so sensitive to an opposing viewpoint as to interpret that as being degraded then that is your problem.

You again make disrespectful comments about other points of view with: “liberal shit”. You are a walking contradiction. You proudly beat your chest about being in the military, a VOLUNTARY military that prides itself on protecting the Land of the Free, then you turn around and not only ask people what they “have done for their country” but you TRY to disrespect another point of view.

Once again you go off topic and YOU don’t reply when bullshit is called on your own contradictory statements. And, btw, the timing of a mission to go after the main culprit of 9/11 has been the main point of my posts; to which you try to blame LIBERAL FUCKS for police-keeping and “and other bullshit things” as you put it. A 3rd or 4th time for you: conservatives had all the power during those years, so you have NO one to blame for that nation building, police keeping mission except them.

Visiting veterans in VA hospitals? I have done that since I was a kid and will continue to do so whether you like it or not or have recommended it or not. I hope you are not one of the soldiers to visit for all the good reasons, not to spit in your face.

Thanking Obama for killing bin Laden is like going into McDonalds & thanking Ronald McDonald for the hamburger. It’s the guy cooking the burger that should get the credit, not the clown.

    Over & Out,

    Jeff
