On My Way To The 71th Sturgis Rally

When you will read this, I will be flying the blue and friendly skies (?) hoping to be in Rapid City this Sunday afternoon to participate to the next 7 days of the largest motorcycle rally in the world, the 71th Sturgis Bike Week.

As soon as I reach my rally headquarters, I will report as usual on all what’s going on any topic of interest, from attendance to weather, from Sturgis trademark dispute to charity events, from new parts to new bikes and all the parties. For those whose names are not on my digital calendar, but expressed the wish to talk with me during the rally, I will attend all major rally functions and events that I mentioned in my Blog during these last 3 weeks.

One event that I still didn’t mention (shameless plug) is my presence at a new hot spot in the Black Hills in Lead (just a couple of blocks above Deadwood) called Desperado Junction Expo where I will autograph pictures and tee-shirts on Thursday August 11th between 2.30 and 3.30 PM. The first 10 people in line at my signature table at the big yellow Desperado Semi Tailer get a free signed tee-shirt! While you are there, you can visit 24 vendors (see list below), watch the Miss Desperado Junction Contest, enjoy live bands music, etc. The address is the parking lot front of the Golden Hills Resort, 900 Miners Avenue, Lead SD Tel: 605-584-1800. See you there on Thursday  11th at 2.30 PM.

Desperado Junction Expo vendors include:Desperado Motorcycles, Jack Daniels Merchandise, Rooster Custom Cycles, Freebird Custom Motorcycles, Supreme Legends, Southern Metal. Choppers, Strip Club Choppers, Uniqcycle Sound, Gina Woods & Open Road Radio, Hog Radio, Thunder Press, Smokin Hog BBQ, On The Grill at the Junction, Grand Canyon Boots, Purple Slice and many more! There will also be a Miss Desperado Junction Contest, Celebrity Guests at the Desperado Display Monday through Friday, a variety of bands will play during the week including Jasmine Cain and at the Beer Tent $1.00 Draft Beer everyday all day.

So far Sturgis has been good.
I started off by attending Charlie Brechtel’s fund raiser for the expansion of The Sturgis Museum at the Buffalo Chip.
If you have never visited the Museum I would suggest you do while in Sturgis and also the Hall of Fame Breakfast in Rapid City,
If you like a lot of food and not spending a lot of money see you at the Nemo Fire Department every morning.
Sunday was riding the hills with friends. Do not forget all the things going on around the ares.
Limpnickie Lot is set up outside the Buffalo Chip and Baker Transmission will be having their burnout contest at the Broken Spoke Downtown tonight (Monday)
So much more to do and looking forward to it all.

There was a brief Cyril sighting last evening at the AMD World Championship of Custom Bike Builders show, however by the time I got to his location he’d vanished! Where will we find him next…
