A New Custom Chrome Inc. For 2012: After the resignation of its President & CEO Holher Mohr, CCI owner DAE-IL has reduced CCI’s workforce by about 25 jobs. It includes reduction of collaborators in its road sales force as well as employees based at its headquarters in Morgan Hill, California. Gerry Bruce is the new nominated Vice President Of Operations responsible for the Directors and Managers of Logistics, Purchasing, Sales & Marketing.

Did Kevin and Mona Alsop Move From Big Bear Choppers To A New Bike Building Business? Fellow Moto Journalist Buck Lovell wrote this week in his website that a well informed source reported to him that Big Bear Choppers duo Kevin & Mona Alsop would now work for (without showing any ownership) in a new shop called Rage Choppers located in or around Riverside, California. The shop would build Big Bear Choppers style custom motorcycles. Coincidence? Rage Chopper was also the name of one of the models sold by Big Bear Coppers. I was unable to verify this information. During this time, those unhappy Big Bear Choppers clients who paid deposits or in full bikes never delivered at this day are trying hard, by all legal means, to get back their money.

Britney Spears Gives $45,000 Motorcycle To Boyfriend. Who Cares? Only the boyfriend, Jason Trawick, and Matt Chambers, founder of Confederate Motorcycles. Britney Spears’ 40th birthday gift to Jason is a Confederate X132 Hellcat. Something to show off on Pacific Coast Highway and maybe an opportunity for Confederate to convince other Hollywood celebrities to purchase its bikes

Regardless of any ownership in the company, if they move any equipment, tools, parts or motorcycles to the new shop before satisfying their creditors from Big Bear the new shop could be gone after as well.

Be afraid of people’s rage ,especially when it comes to money ! Remember the line in “Scarface”
when Sosa says” I’ll tell you this only once , don’t fuck me tony ,don’t you ever fuck me” .
And we all know how that ended.

I have watched from within the rise and the fall of CCI
I have a couple of comments concerning the present situation that they have to redressed even before they start restructuring the company so it can be efficient within todays economy..
1: I dont think that ANY of the previous CCI management before the last one could drag the company back from the edge.
2:If they pick the next CEO because he told them that he is the best thing since sliced bread rather than finding one based on accurate no bullshit information from people who really understand the motor cycle industry

They wont be able to bring Custom Chrome back even close to its previous success.

    Mr Reed,
I agree with you 110%, however I do feel that there are SOME great people that played a HUGE part in the success of CCI, that all changed when this company started playing CEO musical chairs.. it’s never been the same since then, sadly enough, never will be.

This company has WAY too much overhead, way too much debt and not enough dealers and vendors to support them. I personally know of 5 manufacturers who have pulled their product from their shelves for non-payment for nearly a year. Not a good way to do business…

    my .2 cents

The CCI debacle is an ongoing issue. The reduction in force was more like 45% of the company. I don’t think that they will ever be able to recover market share! This is sad for all of the former employees that believed in them and are now out of work in this crappy economy! It is only a matter of time until they either close completely, or are sold to someone else!
Maybe MAG…….. That would be a better fit for sure!
Good luck to all of the employees that got the axe at Christmas!

If your company was in the 70 to 80+ vendors who got a Dear John letter from CCI saying that your company would not be listed in the new 2012 CCI catalog then you might want to e-mail CCI. CCI also sent letters to vendors who CCI has decided to keep in the up coming 2012 catalog and included in some of those letters were checks to either pay off or pay down CCI’s account. Believe this is a clear system of selective payments which maybe illegal. If you are a vendor that is being taken out of the 2012 catalog and is still owed past due monies suggest you write CCI and let them know they are possibly breaking the law. Since Holger Mohr departed, CCI has elected not to communicate with their employees, their dealers, and their vendors other than these few press release in this blog, and these recent vendor letters. If the new CCI staff thinks this will be in their best intrest going forward they are really out of touch with this industry.

Lack of communication, extremely poor management & business decisions over the past several years is what has been so damaging to CC

just a few days after firing long time employees with a week severance
CCI sent about 80 vendors the news they would not be carrying their product for 2012

This is funny since most of the vendors were on do not ship or Pre Pay due to nonpayment issues.
some of these vendors are mainstay vendors at Drag and Bikers Choice.
Like wise promises of checks to past due vendors that got the boot were not kept

I do understand some vendors who they want to keep got checks

the good news for the vendors who got the boot I imagine you will get paid its the vendors they kept on that when the boat sinks will get screwed.

employees let go in the bloody cuts of 2008 got 5 weeks severance and some other perks those let go this last time got 1 week. the employees who go down with the ship will be out of luck
