Continental Tires And Rogue. Two Wheel Legends.

Under the theme “Good enough for Rogue, good enough for you”, our Freedom Fighter is endorsing Continental Tires in a new advertising campaign.

Ad copy reads: “You may not ride 25,000 to 30,000 miles a year like Rogue, but because he does, it’s a great feeling to know whatever, wherever, however and how far you ride, the “ContiMilestone Mileage Plus” tire delivers everything you want and more, improved compound delivering even more mileage without trading an ounce of wet or dry grip, plus breaker construction to more evenly distribute ground pressure…”

Continental AG, internally often called Conti for short, is a worldwide leading German manufacturer of tires, brake systems, vehicle stability control systems, engine injection systems, tachographs and other parts for the automotive and transport industries. The company is based in Hanover, Germany. It is the world’s 4th largest tire manufacturer after Bridgestone, Michelin and Goodyear. It was founded in 1871 as a rubber manufacturer.

I am a Dunlop guy, but I might have to try a set of Contis on the next change.

When we were sitting around having a few beers after Gypsy Won the Biker Build Off I commented how I had to ride back to Florida and do service on the bike including new tires.

I just wanted to get a little more out of them than I had been with what I had been running. I think factory.

Larry Curik told me about Continental Tires and got me a set to try. Hell I had used them back in the 70s.

I rode to Sturgis and back on them and have been using them since.

I really do like these tires and have been telling people so.

I was surprised when Continental asked if they could use my photo in an ad.

    I believe Larry suggested it.

I supplied the photo taken at a local park and they made the ad in some kind of photo-shop

I think the photo is really cool what they did with it.

I was even more surprised about the nice stuff they wrote about me.

    Rob
I have been after them to get some tires for my 09 FLHTC and they are looking into it.
They are very serious about producing a good tire and want to make sure it is something they want to put their name on.
Of course there is time involved in testing, but I am sure you will see something in the future.

What i am suggesting is what Larry said to me. Try Them. I did and I am very happy with them.
I think you will be too.

It can’t be disputed that Rogue has put more miles on his bikes backing up out of parking spaces than many riders have ridden down the blacktop. Nice to see him getting props for being the “real deal”! As always, Rogue, much love and mad respect.

Way to go Rogue!! Great pic!!
    They did a nice job.
I guess they know who the real riders are.
Wonder why they didn’t ask Doc if he was interested in doing the ad.
    (Sorry….couldn’t help it) ….LOLOLOL!!!

  14. 14 Boomer Jan 18th, 2012 at 10:48 am

I see the ad implies the tires get 25k-30k miles but don’t say they get that kind of mileage.

So which is it? Do they actually get that kind of mileage like the new Michelin’s claim to?

  15. 15 Mike Greenwald Jan 18th, 2012 at 10:48 am

Continental would do well making this ad into a poster.

You’re a damn fine biker, a good wrench, tireless freedom fighter, great mentor and a good journalist. Thanks for your friendship.

    Mike

  16. 16 bean're Jan 18th, 2012 at 11:19 am

Yes Rogue is the real deal and putting all the miles on that he does, he would know a good tire. I have to agree. Conti’s are damn fine tires.

  17. 17 DrDucati Jan 18th, 2012 at 11:36 am

Now there’s an endorsement with some authority!
If it’s good enough for Rogue it’s good enough for anyone. His endorsement can’t be bought! It is what it is.

As for the Conti’s, I love those too… ran them for many years starting back in the early 80’s. Great rain tire too!

  21. 21 Luuezz Jan 18th, 2012 at 2:58 pm

Yes…if it’s good enough for Rogue it’s good enough for you- ONLY Rogue would know what is GOOD and what won’t get your money’s worth! I’ll stick with Rogue and give these tires a try next tire change.

  32. 32 Rogue Jan 30th, 2012 at 11:43 am

Otis Yes the tires do run good in the rain and that is one of the reasons I use them.
I feel that my tires being between me and the road that they are Very Important to me.
I chose Continental Tires because they are the best for me and the way I ride.
