    The world is a little bit poorer with her passing. Thank God she still lives in our hearts, minds, souls, and especially in videos like that. Thank you Cyril for, unfortunatly, letting us know. wiz

    One of my favorites, sorry to see her leaving us. My favorite Etta James song, early performance with an intro by Wolfman Jack;

    Thank you for remembering Etta James, Cyril. She was one of a kind, I had the good fortune to see her in concert in 2010. She was clearly in pain on that stage and her poor health was evident that night. I must say her voice was the same though and the audience erupted in applause when “At Last” was sung. She also expressed her displeasure in no uncertain terms with Beyonce for using her song “At Last” for personal gain.
    A bit of trivia about Etta, I believe her father was the famous pool hustler Minnesota Fats.
    Etta RIP

    My neighborhood of Woodcrest in Riverside, Ca. will not be the same with out Etta James. I looked down her street this evening, there were a few cars in front of her house, all was quiet. Our whole community here feel a great loss.Her passing is the talk of the town & the talk of the whole world. She will greatly be missed here in Riverside, Ca. Bless her sweet heart.

    No doubt, a real talent and one that will missed.

    When i first heard Etta sing “I’d rather go blind” she made ya believe it……….
    (try doing that with Rap)

    Thank God for newly mastered old recordings, she will never be gone.

    A true artist whose voice will linger WAY longer than most in “the business” peace

    Not one of my favorite renditions but loved her voice. She sang with strength, emotion and conviction. A truly unique talent.
