Morgan Electric Plus E

Whatever you think today of electric vehicles they are a work in progress and it’s an easy bet to imagine that your favorite gas powered motorcycles manufacturer, sooner or later, will release e-models. This short feature to tell you that even fans of the old school look of the Morgan are now begging to have this e-prototype produced. The Morgan Electric Plus E is powered by a 94 hp Zytek engine, features a 5-speed traditional manual gearbox, a convertible top, a range of 120 miles, a 0 to 62 mph time of six seconds, and a top speed north of 110 mph. And you guessed it. Yes, it’s financed by a £100,000 grant from the UK Government’s Niche Vehicle Network Program to promote the development and marketing of new low carbon vehicle technologies. Tax dollars at work.

now i think morgan’s are interesting, especially the 3 wheeler with a S&S X-Wedge but nothing pisses me off more when government grants help fund projects like these for a company that is ultimately a luxery car company…… I know its the British government funding it…. but its still *&%$*&^ stupid

Looking at products and manufacturing logically, Morgan should have been out of business a few decades ago along with MG. But they held onto their niche and survived. I visited the factory last fall and they make hi-tech cars and also the old wooden subframed version similar in appearance to what Cyril is showing here. I’m happy not all cars and bikes are slicked up, electronic whiz bang machines and that some throwbacks exist. England protects their heritage almost as well as Italy and I like that.

” low carbon vehicle technologies” Anybody here know the breakdown on what generates the UK’s electricity? I know here in the US it’s over 80% coal-fired steam turbines so that for the most part would be a car that runs on coal.

Life as we know it is coming to an end as this administration continues to ram this crap down our throats. The best defense is to quit reporting on it. The best offense is to get rid of this administration. They are now spreading their crap to other countries

When battery technology produces affordable, durable power sources THEN I will “jump on the e wagon” This is a nice looking “recreational” vehicle. I am searching for it’s dry weight. peace
