Harley-Davidson Artist Scott Jacobs And Daughter Alexa In New ABC Series “Secret Millionaire”. June 3, 2012.

“Secret Millionaire” is a one-hour alternative TV series that follows some of America’s most successful business people as they spend a week in the country’s poorest areas and ultimately gift deserving members of those communities with hundreds of thousands of dollars of their own money.

In the Season Premiere episode, millionaire and world-renowned artist Scott Jacobs and his sheltered 18-year-old daughter, Alexa, leave behind their family and lavish lifestyle in San Diego to spend six days in Newark, New Jersey – an American city in need – to search for those most in need of financial help. While there, father and daughter will attempt to survive on less than $75 during their week-long visit, while volunteering their time to worthy charitable organizations and searching their hearts to determine how much of their own fortune to gift the community heroes they meet. “Secret Millionaire” premieres SUNDAY, JUNE 3 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Scott Jacobs came from humble beginnings and learned early on that success is undeniably linked to hard work and perseverance. In high school his creative side was jumpstarted when he was persuaded to become the artist for the school newspaper, an area in which he showed great talent that would re-emerge later in life. Scott understood that to follow his dreams he had to control his own destiny, so at the age of 19 he became one of the youngest ever owners of an art gallery. This sweat equity would translate into a successful business and enable him to take major leaps in a career that continues to the present day.

Later in life, when Scott’s wife, Sharon, gave him a paint set as a gift, the creative juices began to flow again and, as in high school, he began to draw and paint some of the things that interested him, like motorcycles and cars. At an art show in New York, he came a step closer to becoming a recognized artist with a couple of Harley-Davidson paintings that garnered a lot of public attention, as well as the attention of Harley-Davidson, which in 1993 made him their first-ever officially licensed artist. His art now hangs in museums, galleries and private collections in more than 60 countries.

Based on the hit UK series of the same name, each episode of “Secret Millionaire” follows one of America’s most successful business people for one week as they leave behind their lavish lifestyles and go to live and volunteer in some of the most impoverished and dangerous neighborhoods in the country. Their mission is to discover deserving individuals who continually sacrifice everything to help those in need, and ultimately encourage others to do the same. Throughout this incredible, life-changing experience, the Secret Millionaires attempt to remain undiscovered, coming face to face with extraordinary people battling the odds every day of their lives. On the final day, in an emotional and dramatic climax, they reveal their true identities. Ultimately, the millionaires each give away a great deal of their own money, changing lives forever and encouraging others to keep giving back.  “Secret Millionaire” on ABC premieres Sunday June 3, 2012

Whats the big deal? I do it and if we had a better goverment I could have a life. I wish I was getting paid to be on TV

Is “alternative TV” the new PC term for reality shows now?

  4. 4 J May 15th, 2012 at 12:31 pm

How about just a show based on his daughter…. yummy

Newark is a rough town, hope they had enough security.

Please people, if everyone would stop judging others before they walk in their footsteps, this country would be in better shape! Have you seen the show? No one gets paid. It was Scott’s money, his time, and his right and decision to give away HIS Money that he’s worked very hard for. How about thanking those who help others? There’s enough selfish and ‘entitled’ people out there. The ones helping are not the bad guys!

I grew up there, it’s a tough place. God bless Scott for what he did,I would give my bottom dollar to see someone who gives a negative comment about this stand on the corner of broad and market with me for five minutes.Ten will get you twenty you would change your tune pretty quick

Scott paid his dues and has worked hard for many years to get where he is today. If anyone knows this family, they know that they are great, warm and loving people. They would do anything to help others, even if it wasn’t on tv.

I’m proud of them for doing this show and besides, it’s way better than watching dumb ass people catch catfish with their hands or watch stupid shit like the Kardashian family, who has no talent whatsoever.

Good for you Scott and Alexa!

Great thing to do but why do we have to make a reality show about everthing these days?

  12. 12 SLM May 16th, 2012 at 3:48 pm

Because it’s ‘Real’ and people need guidance and incentives. I like a good sitcom, but at least this is good realty about doing the right thing and helping others. It’s not about who’s hooking up with whom, or which has-been actor is in rehab, or showing some ridiculous ‘Sweet 16’ party. And it makes you feel good…

A tip. Layers of newspapers make an ideal mattress if you’re sleeping under a bridge for shelter.

  14. 14 Cris Sommer Simmons May 16th, 2012 at 5:08 pm

And… layers of newspapers inside your jacket can keep you warm if you don’t have a warm coat. 🙂

Successful people giving back to communities is ignored for the most part by the mainstream media. Mr. Jacobs is a great example of human nature at its finest. Can’t wait to see the episode; already set to record on my DVR!!!

I’m happy there are people like Scott and his family who want to help others without reaching into your pocket for the bucks.

Having spent time with Scott on several occasions I can tell you he is one of the nicest guys out there. When he was talking about this project back during Sturgis (I assume it was this one because he couldn’t reveal the details) he was so excited.

    Kudos to the Jacobs family.

Rock on Scott and yummy daughter ….hope you have a great time and put smiles on a lot of faces congrats to hard work and perserverence !!!

“The toughest time wasn’t living in a rundown, junky house or sleeping on a cot. It wasn’t

existing on macaroni and cheese and PB&J sandwiches”, said Jacobs. “It was seeing

people living in the streets and sleeping under bridges, going into churches for a warm

meal. It was experiencing their everyday life.” – U-Tribune, 5-24-12

We need more people in the world like Scott and Alexa. I wish them the best in life. They are beautiful loving people. Scott you should be very proud of your daughter.

My daughter and I just watched tonights episode and what I also loved seeing the new relationship form with Father/Daughter – you both did an amazing thing and I hope you continue taking the time for one another – not having a father to share things with is something I will always wish I had experienced. My daughter is very fortunate she has a father that is very active in her life. Kido’s again to you both for what you did tonight and I pray good things happen for Chris!! Seeing this made my daughter and I promise to do something volunteer wise -wish we had the money to give but the next best thing is getting involved in something and volunteering.

I was very moved by his genorsity, especially to the GI Go fund. It is not every day you see an episode on tv that is for those who have fought, fallen and are still fighting for our freedom. As for those who condem it, no on is forcing you to watch it.

    THANK YOU!!

Excellent program, I also am an starving artist and have been trying to figure out a way to help these people around here!!!! I have the developed the coolest art for children mine would be for and adults. My mother ANGEL DARLENE just recently passed and I had been working towards helping others with my ART but no one will pick-up on it, I ask for nothing. I just want to hire my brothe Stephen when I would make money to invest it in the stockmarket, because he is really smart then when I pass it will continue to help those whom need help here in Applachia , Scioto County OHIO.

I call it ANGEL SPRINGZ here it is really an unusual place and BEAUTIFUL!!!! Has its own spring, and wildlife!!! The Mennonites built it and Applachia carpentry, it is absoutely beautiful!!!! We made it for our mother Darlene because she was so beautiful and kind!!!!

We actually have pictures of ANGEL ORBS that appeared, I believe they came here to get my mother, then after she pass they disappeared, but they left me with this unusual talent of seeing these characters, then I began to drawl them. It was during Oprah leaving, the Ellen Degeneres Show, and the Today Show.

I miss my mother deeply but want to use this talent to help others!!!1

    Regards
    Kimberly

One of the best outstanding reality show ever. Great idea in showing the masses and don’t hate. What these millionares are doing to help those less fortunate by reaching out to the community and giving their time are very wonderful and humbling. Giving to the source that needs is the best way to go because you have to be careful of those wolves in sheep clothing.

Great Thanks to ABC for another amazing series that shows what can be done for others.
Scott and Alexa, I hope and pray that this experience will change the rest of your lives.
It is amazing how many hurting people there are in the U.S. and we so often turn our heads.
God Bless you Scott and Alexa. Thank you for being willing to step out of your world.

I watched the show by accident and it brought tears to my and i enjoyed the interaction between father and daughter. It has also inspired me on a volunteer idea i have had about providing clothes and sundries to homeless or less fortunate individuals that need the basic stuff so they can be warm and clean on the streets and also have clean clothes for job interviews. I have already been collecting clothes and sundries from friends but it needs to get bigger as the need is so great. I am going to think thru a plan and start implementing that plan asap. If you have never volunteered it is time for you all to step up, I call it Time, Talent, or Treasure. I practice them all but everyone no matter how old, poor or limited has something to offer and everything helps. I guarantee it will make you feel better about yourself to give in what ever way you can, there is always someone that is in worst shape than you are. Giving of yourself always comes back two fold, try it, I guarantee you will love it and love yourself. Look for opportunities they are everywhere. Good luck and God bless.

Bless you for your bravery to go so far from your comfort zone. Easily said but not easily done. May your impact be far greater than just your generous donations to these worthwhile causes. May your talents shine brighter in many news ways because of this brave experience. God bless you.

I love these amazing people who aren’t millionaires who give so generously of themselves, their time and money, God Bless them. Scott Jacobs and all the other millionaires who go on this show are also heros in my book, they didn’t have to share there stories or their money and they are giving back to the less fortunate so kudos to you guys as well . Really it is so much better to give then to receive even the smallest kindness is rewarding…..

What a wonderful story, his daughter figured out what it was to work she , got motivated helping those people , she’s a beautiful girl! Now after doing the show, it woke her up to see what’s going on this world , they both made all those people so happy by giving them that money, it’s good they got to see how things are so bad out there, the story was so touching , I love this show! Glad they brought it back! Thank you Scott! You did a wonderful thing! Nice art work too! New Harley owners here, I’ll be checking out your paintings, althought I’m sure I won’t be able to afford any!
Thanks for doing what you did!

I was so touched by what you and your daughter Alexa did on the show. Everyone struggles in their own way some worse than others and its nice to see people helping others. Mine was abuse in a 20+ yr marriage and its dishearting when you have nothing and have to figure it all out. My 2 children were all I had. Its been a long hard 8 yrs but have learned so much. Would love to see something like the show happen to the domestic violence shelter here because they were there when I had nothing. Like so many others. Keep up the good work.

  41. 41 Hermione Jun 9th, 2012 at 10:30 pm

Thank you so much for giving to a very needed city. I grew up in Newark and know exactly what you witnessed. I only moved two towns over and at times drive by and wish I could do more.
    Thank you again for helping!!!

  42. 42 sunny Jun 10th, 2012 at 1:09 am

if every millionaire would give some of his money to the needy ones, we would not have so many starving people. Eventough I appreciate the donations they make from their own money, I think they are being very stingy with it. Donating 20k,50k,75k,2.5k a total of $152.500 ist like peanuts for a MULTI MILLIONAIRE. If i was a Multi Millionaire I would be at least giving them 100k each.

  43. 43 Caroline Good Jun 10th, 2012 at 1:33 am

Just saw the episode tonight. Scott Jacobs and his adorable daughter deserve our gratitude. None of us should begrudge that someone worked hard, has a special gift and was able to make money, especially having come from a humble background.

All of us can do a little, even if it is volunteering an hour or two of our week. I wish that rich people in general would pay more taxes and into the system to help people that need a structure and a support system.

Thank you Mr. Jacobs and daughter, you became better people, and you also showed us that helping is a reward to the giver and not necessarily the needy.

  44. 44 MJ Jun 10th, 2012 at 7:20 pm

Good for you Scott ! Good for your Alexa! God has move you to do this I believe.

I am not a millionaire as a matter of fact I am not even a “dollaraire” if that is a word, but I always wanted to help others who most times by no fault of theirs are in desperate situations. I have fed homeless people on the streets of Los Angeles for the past 3 years from the little I have. Now watching this show brought me to tears. THIS MAN IS GENUINE, his daughter really cared, this was no fake. Now I am getting off my butt and will do even more because once you make a positive move things will fall in place.

    GREAT WORK SCOTT AND ALEXA

  45. 45 Aline Alexander Fort Pierce, Florida Jul 16th, 2012 at 12:52 pm

I watched the show accidentally. I am not a big T.V. buff. especially since most of the T.V. reality series is non productive in ones own life. I think it was a time shared by Father daughter to be cherished, awesome wonderful to see the way Alexa handled herself and Scott to have healing with his own past. God gives to us the same way as they chose to give. Many happy returns of a lifetime to the family. Experiencing the lives of people without all the “things” that we so often take for granted, is an eye opener. Definitely will put priorities into perspective. Thank you Scott and Alexa for giving of yourselves in that way. Thank-you to his family for giving them up for a week. God has blessed Scott and now he is able to bless others.
