Coming To Sturgis In August. Sons Of Anarchy Themed Harley-Davidson Bikes And Expanded Line Of Merchandise.

A deal has been signed between 20th Century Fox Consumer Products and Bartel’s Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey, California for the production of 100 limited edition motorcycles that will retail for about $25,000 each at Harley dealers this fall. Although no details have been given about how these bikes are going to look, it’s not difficult to guess their paint jobs inspired by the logo and strongest images of the TV show and a few “gimmick” accessories like ape hangers, just to make you feel…like you are a riding outlaw. Sons Of Anarchy is now the most-watched TV series in FX’s history among viewers 18-49 with a total average of 5.5 million watching each episode. It was also the number three DVD release among TV shows in 2011.

About to enter its fifth season, FX has already committed to the show through the seventh season, and because the overall audience is expected to grow during the next 2 years, a flurry of licensing deals are being signed in the US & abroad. If at one time you cringed at all the WCC and OCC merchandising, for the holidays be prepared for an invasion of SOA apparel, riding and fighting/boxing gear, die-cast motorcycles, stationary, posters, stickers, trivia games, coffee mugs, etc in a shop near you. Everything to turn your home into a club house to live the life of an outlaw 24/7.

Jeffrey Godsick, president of 20th Century Fox Consumer Products explains: “There are different audiences buying the products. They range from the show’s fan base to people who just like the counter-culture biker attitude to people who are weekend bikers.” Sons Of Anarchy is already a hit in the U.K., Germany, The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand,

So what, who cares? Would a real biker be seen riding one of these “wannabe bad bikes”

  2. 2 fredp Jun 13th, 2012 at 1:36 pm

For my greatest pleasure Cyril knows how to alternate real news with entertainment. This post in the entertainment/smile category.

    Wannabe one percenters.

Wear those colors [SOA] around some One percenters with attitude and drink from your mug. LOL

    Socrates stated ,

Unwarranted Self-Importance (USI) is a disease that gives you the feeling that you are actually worth something despite not having made any contributions to anything at all, and actually making the world a much shittier place, thus making yourself look like a complete douche.

Fuji, you use your tongue better than a twenty dollar whore. Always enjoy your posts.

Socrates was my favorite philosopher because he often used the word douche.

i loved the first two seasons… but havent payed attention since. its entertainment only , anyone who takes the show as reality is well… diluted….

  10. 10 winterman Jun 13th, 2012 at 3:29 pm

If real bikers acted like these jokers, they would be jailed so far under the prison for so long air would have to be pumped to them for the next 100 years.

  11. 11 intvland Jun 13th, 2012 at 3:52 pm

It’s actually a well written, well acted, and a well produced “show”. Remember it’s tv and it’s entertainment.
And good for the actors all the way down to the PA’s and catering who have one hell of a good time making a living for our entertainment.

  12. 12 Poppa Jun 13th, 2012 at 4:08 pm

It’s not a “reality” show, it’s fiction. Anyone taking it any more seriously than that needs to get a life.

It has actually gotten better with each season; Kurt Sutter has a lot of talent. (And his wife, Mrs. Bundy, has always been hot.)

  13. 13 Woody Jun 13th, 2012 at 4:14 pm

Give the people what they want, I guess. Why anyone would want to label themselves with one of those is beyond me, but it’ll sure will save time deciding who to talk to on the road 😉

    The idea makes me vomit.

Sons Of Anarchy relates to being in a outlaw MC club just like “Top Gun” relates to being a navy pilot and “The Hurt Locker” relates to being EOD tech. They may be entertaining to watch but but not really based in reality.

  18. 18 Sharrack Jun 13th, 2012 at 9:15 pm

    SOA is simply unwatchable….
With sales tax at 9.1% here in Az….. And a soft market….. Buying new is for suckers….. Even if they throw in a free SOA DVD andva vest!

  19. 19 Woody Jun 13th, 2012 at 9:35 pm

I’m holding out for a “I dream of Jeanie”, Mighty Mouse, or “Wonder Woman” model.

  20. 20 Jesus Jun 13th, 2012 at 9:45 pm

Sons of stupidity are going to buy all this SOA BS.

I can see it now, get your limited edition black and white charlie inspired paint job for only $30,000.

  24. 24 Wiz Jun 14th, 2012 at 7:57 am

The SOA show plays on every sterotype we been fighting for years. Sure, it’s just entertainment, but unfortunatly, subliminally, John Q Public has it in the back of his mind when he sees anyone, other than a total yuppie motorcycle enthuiast, ridin’ a chopper or a bike/individual with an attitude. They like to entertain the idea of total disreguard for laws, morals, or decency, ‘an they think that is us. Wiz

  25. 25 davetfft Jun 14th, 2012 at 9:17 am

i like the idea, that way when i see one of these poser bikes i know not to bother talking to the fad infatuated retard that thinks buying a bike they see on TV will make them billy bada$$…

and I can’t blame the companies, if there’s a buck to be made off of a sucker I say go for it…

  26. 26 tejasandre Jun 14th, 2012 at 10:15 am

cant wait to trade my chopper on a new SOA bike!

  27. 27 Jeff Jun 14th, 2012 at 11:07 am

I like the show….for what it is, a TV show. What gets under my skin is these wanna be fags ridin around wearin MC vest with these fake SOA patches/rockers acting like their somebody, or even the soa T-shirts. The general non-MC public don’t know the difference between real & fake colors. Why should some jackdick get the same respect as a real “patchholder” They didn’t earn or sacrifice anything nor do they understand what it takes for a “real patchholder” to earn this right. What’s next? “Support your local SOA mc chapter” gear? Ha….just my take on it. SYLO

  28. 28 Sugar Bear Jun 14th, 2012 at 11:19 am

When does this program air and what’s a Laffing Devil ?????

  29. 29 Sugar Bear Jun 14th, 2012 at 11:28 am

Just “Googled” Laffing Devils …….. never mind …….

  30. 30 Manhattan Choppers Jun 14th, 2012 at 3:33 pm

Glee will be the next MC..Stay Tuned.. Sugar Bear for Governor’s Office!!

  31. 31 Olive oil Jun 14th, 2012 at 4:19 pm

Just had a mind laugh, imagining a group of bikers wearing Sons of Anarchy tees and patches drinking out of SOA beer mugs in “Gunners”. Would love to see that and the reaction to follow. Watch out for those long flashlights hanging from the belt.

  32. 32 badams Jun 14th, 2012 at 7:42 pm

Bartel’s used to have a solid performance and custom crew, even had racing teams. While the notion of an SOA club bike is contrived, it will be interesting to Bartel’s execution. If they pushed out a 120 JIMS Dyna with Ohlins, Brembos and sticky tires, sure, its viable; however if they think adding a mini fairing and copyright logos from a studio will do it, well……

    Lets see what happens.

  33. 33 burnout Jun 14th, 2012 at 7:56 pm

Sugar Bear I just spit beer on my keyboard! peace

  34. 34 Sportster Mike Jun 15th, 2012 at 2:29 am

Oh dear me… whatever next? We already have SoA style fairings here in England – for all those weekend warriors to fix to their Dynas
Didn’t think it could get worse…
The show mind, is quite well written, but absolutely nothing to do with the ‘biker lifestyle’ unless you want to end in prison quickly surely???

  35. 35 BobS Jun 15th, 2012 at 7:53 am

Jeff, wanna be patch riders always have and always will get the same respect as real patched riders from the general non MC public. As in they both get zero. The only people that respect what someone ” went through ” to get a patch are the ones wearing the same patch, nobody else cares.

  36. 36 Doc Jun 15th, 2012 at 6:08 pm

Did someone mention SugarBear is running for Cali Governor?!?!? Headline Reads: “The New California Governor ride a 30 Over Chopper”. Sugarbear, holler at me for a campaign manager! SugarBear 2013!!!!! if not for governor at least for school board!

It is well written and entertaining but Wiz is spot on. They are re energizing all the old stereotypes that had been largely erased by a mainstream crowd once again taking to two wheels. They’re getting help too. I seriously doubt that the Hollywood regulars know enough to write with that much accuracy. For example, how many people do you think knew what a ‘cut’ was before this show? It’s just a show, it’s not reality, that may be true but most people don’t really know the difference. I have seen a crazy amount of the shirts and vests that have state rockers on them, even know a guy who had the ‘grim reaper’ tattooed on his forearm. Apparently he is unaware of the Reapers, could be a tough education.

    RE:
“…Why should some jackdick get the same respect as a real “patchholder”…”

Why would John Q Public “respects” any patchholder….. ???
Ya don’t “gets respect” respect, ya have-ta earn it.

As Wiz said SOA just helps reinforce the image of motorcycling as outside normal socially acceptable activities. It helps law enforcement harass riders because John Q Citizen knows when he sees a motorcycle only road block that it’s justified by the criminal activity of all bikers. John Q knows because he saw it on SOA.

  41. 41 Blackmax Jun 19th, 2012 at 6:34 pm

I think Winterman, Tripwire & The Mighty Wiz have it right….
    How about this:
The Laffing Sons of Stupidity or Devils Sons of Fakers

That ought to sell millions to the 1% wanabees

  42. 42 Watson Jun 19th, 2012 at 11:26 pm

    Oh tugging puhleeze

  43. 43 Ax Jun 21st, 2012 at 11:21 am

Who’s going to buy this stuff? There’s websites whose members sneak pictures of wannabees wearing SOA stuff and then post them so they can make fun of them. I go to a lot of motorcycle events and never see anyone wearing this crap.
