Top Chop. An Every Day Chopper.

Traditional choppers will never go out of style and today’s chopper era could be characterized by this one featuring the best of hand-crafted appearance without the gaudy accessories often seen on some “chopper models” produced by now defunct “small production custom motorcycle” companies.

Yes, there is a wide variety of designs qualifying a custom motorcycle to fit it in the chopper category but you will probably agree that this one is the most popular both in the US and Europe. Built by Thunderbike Germany, an official Harley-Davidson dealer, it’s not surprising that they chose to build what is both popular and reasonable in terms of aesthetics, performance and handling, of course using an old Harley mill to power it. I am not sure that as fitted “Top Chop” is legal on the German roads (as a remedy, the bike would just need a few security add-ons), but it would be on the US highways. So, a good reference for your next garage build. Thunderbike Germany.

As much as I would never own/ride one of these I do hope they never never go away . Love em ( I do visually ) or Leave em ( the ride ) they’re part and parcel of our American M/C heritage .

Brings back some fond memories. Good to see someone still building the style/era of chop’s with just a smidgen of today’s style like the handlebars. I would probably incorporate at least one set of disk brakes or some other new tech brakes for stopping even though the bike is very light compared to the original machine the mill powered in its day.

Lots of guys are building these STATESIDE, glad to see that they also appreciate this style across the pond. Wish I could still ride it without losing a filling…or a kidney…or running outta gas after 70 miles. LOL

Take a good look children that is what a ” chopper ” should look like , no airplane propellers or lawn mower blades. The Europeans and Asians are showing us how to build real cool , classic old school choppers. Great job.
