Don’t Hard Twist The Throttle While On Wet Grass

The location: a small village in east of France (Lorraine) The event: called the “French Hollister” held every first weekend of May. The organizer: The “School Bar Atelier”, loosely affiliated with the Boozefighters and Jean Claude Passetemps, a well known custom builder in Europe and quite a character (will not say more…) The event: laughing, burning out rubber, drinking, group riding in the beautiful countryside (scene of the famous WWI battle in Verdun when French soldiers were fighting to stop German invasion) Weather: pouring rain during all event weekend. Particularity: no police on location during the event. The photographer: well known photographer Horst Roesler, always looking for a scoop. And he got one.

Jean Claude Passetemps leads the group ride. He climbs on his bike to offer Horst a grewt shot. He hits a patch of wet grass, throttle to escape it…. Horst shoot, shoot, shoot. See the rest of pictures after the jump (nobody was injured during the event…and the fall)

Great shots. Is water or beer responsible for this spill?

Guess that’s why they require helmets 😉

HeHeHe, looks like bike and rider came up unharmed… the real question for me is, what’s with the duct tape on those springers?

Ha! Hot doggin’ got him. Gotta have fun… just glad he didn’t take anyone down with him. I see he’s running a car tire on the back. Excellent!

The duct tape is used on bikes with no front fender in the rain. It cuts down on spin-off from the tire. Old chopper trick.

I sure like the look of that fat ol’ tire in front of his chopper.

Didn’t know Hollister had a sister (brother?) city in France. Didn’t know BFMC was international, but it makes sense, I guess…

    Jumbo saddlebags.
Ice is heavy and beer sloshing in their containers adds to a pendulum effect….. hit a soft french road shoulder and …. bu-bye ! 🙂

The road looks like a great place to ride. Just a single roadway with no room for oncoming traffic out in the country.

    Ha!

That’s funny stuff! Glad it was just his pride hurt. Also love the fat tires on the bikes with the springer front ends…way cool.
