So many things to do in the Black Hills at night. And if you wonder where I was last night (among other places…), it was at the Baker Drivetrain burnout at Sickies Garage on Lazelle Street in Sturgis. Jay Allen was the Master Of Burnout Competition between many well known professionals of the industry. Patrick Garvin from J&P Cycles won. 15 seconds of smoke without the smell…

Thanks for joining us Cyril! It was fun!
Burning rubber is a serious carcinogen. ..Z
🙂
Sorry I Missed It
The burnout competitions are about the only thing in motorcycling that doesn’t appeal to me. Fine at the dragstrip, and a reason for it…but not nearly as much fun standing on the porch of the local bar. Anyway, not to be negative; live and let live.
I’m 14 years old, …I think it really cool…..ugh.
Love the smoke….hate the smell. Looks like a good time!
Whatever………
Looks to me like a pointless waste of time & equipment.

I guess the whole idea of burnin” and blowin” out tires doesn’t make a whole lot of sense…..but damn, it’s funny to watch in person….and even more hilarious when stoned. I can’t afford to burn my own tires, but I’ll damn sure watch everyone else do it…..even from the porch of the local bar, or better yet – inside the local bar. . . . . good times.
Hey Zipper, it must be true. Heard it from my girlfriend when she told me I had to slow it down.
Well if your going to change the tire anyway what the hell is the difference, Burn one and have some fun. Believe me, 1rst to 5th gear is taken very seriously, I was there! These guys train all year and they are even thinking of making this an Olympic sport next year. True Athletes, I say! Makes those Nascar guys look like a bunch of pussy’s! I think some of them had specially matched tires with perfect stagger for burnouts!
