Chasing Ice. A Must Watch.

Nothing to do with motorcycles. Not a political statement about the environment. But you must all watch this. Nature at work…

I’m pretty sure that Mother Nature knows what she’s doing.

Well all the bottled water companies will still fill those bottles with the garden hose just as they always have.

Mother nature will do what she wants to do. It’s a natural cycle. Those glaciers that are melting is a NORMAL phenomenon. It’s happened for millions of years and always will… Just like an engine, Earth and other planets will go through cycles.

Gotta laugh at those that are still in denial about human induced global damage, ….while this may sound harsh it’s the truth,…..it means you are an uneducated moron.

To give you an idea, the layer of breathable atmosphere on the earth is equal (in relative terms) to that piece of skin that you find underneath the shell of a hard boiled egg as you’re peeling it. Have you been to China recently? You have no idea of the air pollution those boobs are putting out over there (not to mention the rest of the third world) and have been for the last 40 years

Part of the problem is many people actually have no idea of the relative size of the earth, they all think it’s huge when in actual fact it is quite tiny. The air New Yorkers are breathing today is the same air that was sitting over shitty smoke stack covered Guadalehara Mexico not 36 hours ago.

In the 1600’s taking a horse drawn carriage from Moscow to London (ie: completely across the European continent) meant that for except a few scant miles the entire trip occurred underneath an ‘old growth’ tree canopy. Now, except for a few scant miles it takes place under open sky, …we won’t go into the rest of the world, you get the picture.

Believe me when I tell you that you’re lucky because you are actually getting in at the end of acceptibly habitable life on earth, from here on in things will be going down hill in a big way.

People underestimate the unique historically significant changes that have taken place in the last few generations particularly concerning the sheer rate of technological change (which allows humans to do way more damage then otherwise).
To illustrate this sheer rate of technological change consider that Winston Churchill participated in the last horse mounted lance charge in history (Sudan 1898?) and within his life time witnessed a man on the moon and the hydrogen bomb. From stirrup technology which prevailed for nearly 1500 years or more to the hydrogen bomb in one man’s life time….what’s coming? Thiings are and will be changing quite quickly henceforth.

8 billion on earth now or something like that. Just 40-50 years ago the 85-90% of the world’s population were rural based (and able to produce enough food for themselves), now the same amount are urban based (vast shanty towns containing millions). There are now hundreds of cities in the world containing millions of people that you’ve never heard of….onlly a little while ago you knew the name of any cities containing more than a million or two because you could count them on one hand. Got any idea how much liquid effluent, chemicals, garbage and air pollution a city of 5-10 million puts out on a daily basis?

If you think man’s last 100 years on earth hasn’t caused damage that includes climactic change than you’re either an uneducated moron or you’re wilfully ignorant. Now, go read a book.

    ..rant off.
