A proposal To Make Nevada The First State In The nation To Legalize Motorcycle Lane Splitting Has died In the State Senate. The bill would have allowed motorcycles to drive between cars as long as traffic was stopped and the motorcycle did not go faster than 10 mph. Proponents said the legislation would make it safer for motorcyclists to ride in heavy traffic. Had the legislation passed, it would have made Nevada the first state in the nation to officially legalize lane splitting. California tolerates lane-splitting although there is no law regulating it. Triumph Motorcycles To Enter India Market This Year. Triumph Motorcycles wants its share of the Indian market. Although their have shown their motorcycles more than 1 year ago at the 2012 India Auto Expo, the British motorcycle has been slowed down by a few hurdles trying to set up a local assembly plant to undercut its competitors in pricing. But Triumph confirmed that that they will go ahead this year with their expansion project in India.
The V-Twin Expo Has Changed Its Show Dates. The 2014 V-twin Industry Dealer event is now scheduled for Feb. 8-9, still at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Cincinnati. This decision was taken to prevent the show to run concurrently with the Super Bowl weekend like in former years.
Indian Motorcycle Maker Royal Enfield To Push Sales In Southest Asia And Latin America. Parent company Eicher Motors Ltd. (owner of Royal Enfield since since 1993) is predicting more demand in emerging markets for mid-sized bikes with an engine capacity of 250 to 650 cubic centimeters as people become more affluent. Royal Enfield recorded its best sales ever during the 1st quarter of 2013, selling 124,270 motorcycles.
