How Do You Walk Away From This?

Nick O’Leary, a Seminoles Tight End, the grandson of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus, was riding his motorcycle down a street in Tallahassee, Florida. A Lexus pulled in front of him. The violent collision propelled O’Leary from the motorcycle and set him sliding some 75-100 feet, narrowly missing the bus from which this recording came. O’Leary walked away from the accident, was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and left with no major injuries.

Unbelievable how close the kid was to being a part of it.

looks like the rider might have been going too fast for the street , but the lexus owner wasn’t paying attention either… stupid is as stupid does…. my question for the rider was…did you learn anything?

I’m sure accident investigation can determine how fast the bike was traveling. My question is where was the car going?

Somethings not quite right on this deal.

The initial shot is form the back of the buss.
Car pulls out onto a clear road.
Looks like its turning right (not crossing traffic).

Then all of a sudden there is not buss interior in the pic.
It looks like the shooter is standing in front of the buss???
And the car is now driving like its crossing in front of the buss???

    Strange….. (photoshoped???)

Nicker. There are 2 cameras in the bus. rear & front. Perspective looks different. Normal. Photoshop is for pictures, not for editing movies. And it’s not a buss (?) but a bus.

My instinct would have been to dive behind the car. Don’t go where the car is going, go where the car has already vacated. Would I have made it? Maybe, maybe not. Too hard to tell from what we see in the video but i sure would have tried.

    OK bus it is.
And OK its the bus surveillance cameras.

Still doesn’t explain why the car has crossed the yellow line into the front of a bus….???

Looks like the driver is driving over (blocking the bus) to pick up the kid.
    WTF?

The World revolves around the Lexus driver and the fucking offspring

  14. 14 cbarter Jul 27th, 2013 at 6:11 am

    Biker definitely exceeding speed limit.

  15. 15 Pest Assassin Jul 28th, 2013 at 8:40 am

I’m surprised no one mentioned the helmet bouncing past the BUS at 17 thru 20 seconds.
I think Shemp is correct, it does look like the idiot is pulling in front of the BUS to pick up the kid that is getting off the BUS.

    Rule of the Road:
    1. It’s a federal crime to ride a motorcycle on paved streets and highways.
    2. Everybody hates a motorcycle rider.
    3. All vehicles are out to run you over.
    4. Your life is worthless to anyone driving a vehicle.
    5. You should be working inside a building, not out having fun on a motorcycle.
    6. If you ride a motorcycle you deserve to die.
    7. Everybody hates a motorcycle rider.
    •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Now go out and have some fun riding your motorcycle. Everybody hates your existence. Have fun though. 🙂

16 responses yet not one has stated the obvious: Not passing a stopped school bus. Think for a moment if the bus is clearly stopped, the Lexus driver takes advantage of traffic that should also be slowing/stopping, to pull out, going no further than driveway in street until bus again starts rolling. Granted Lexus driver can’t drive nor stay in lane. Motorcycle rider didn’t pay close enough attention to a stopped school bus.

Very glad Nick O’Leary walked away.

Not that I’m a fan of adding insult to injury, but you’re totally right. BOTH the lexus and mc should have received tickets for failure to stop.

I think one thing needs to cleared up. It isn’t a school bus. Look at the interior. It also says “StarMetro” on the video. What we are failing to grasp as well is the bus is stopped therefore the motorcycle seems to be traveling at a higher rate of speed. It is said that when we are stopped/standing still it appears the vehicle/s in question will look as though they are traveling as much as 10 miles an hour faster than they really are. we also can’t forget the driver of the car failed miserably. What if it had been a large vehicle, the kid was attempting to enter the vehicle and pinned him between the car and bus.

They don’t see me……. they don’t see me…….. They don’t see me…. this is my daily riding chant.
