LED Headlamp With Incorporated Front Turn Signals

headlamp1headlamp2With its incorporated LED front turn signal, the 7″ Phase 2 HedLED is looking like no other competitor headlamp. Because of high tech in technology – LED’s are drawing less current than an incandescent lamp – it will work as well on the high output system of a new Bagger than on an older Panhead charging system. Ultra bright LED’s with high and low beam, under glass, not plastic. MSRP: 282.50. At Rivera Primo

I doubt the LEDs are spaced far enough apart to be legal traffic indicators in any country anywhere around the world.I see a law suit coming.Nearly 300 bucks? I’ll pass.

Fine for a custom application, BUT No doubt about it. They are not per NHSTA regs and more over with common sense!

It was bad enough when they were doing with this tail lights. I had to tell a fellow rider once that he couldn’t lead our ride anymore because nobody could tell where he was turning unless they were right up on his ass. I can’t imagine trying to spot a turn signal while staring down somebody’s high-beam.

The NHTSA regulations I’ve read dictate that motorcycle front turn signals should be mounted with a minimum horizontal separation distance of 16 inches. Minimum edge to edge separation distance between a turn signal lamp and headlamp is 4 inches. Minimum height above the ground is 15 inches.

Not so sure it’s a good idea to confuse car drivers.

They should come with a glove like Michael Jackson’s,but in LEDs.The only problem is when indicating a turn the glove only comes in a right hand version,so you end up just riding around in big city block circles.I guess that its O.K.,as if MJ is going to use it any more.

Now there’s a new product idea! I’m going to make a besparkled LED glove that sits strait up above the license plate. Hit the left signal button than the gloves shimmies and waves to the left, hit the right button and it swings and sparkles to the right. Thing Cyril will feature my new product?

BobS,it might be worth a patent application.

Get good product liability coverage and legal advice though.Car drivers may well run you down when the see a bejewelled glove waving at them though the gloom. They might think its the ghost of Liberace on a ectoplasmic cruise O love in the dead of night.People have long memories when it come to old twinkle pinkies.You-whoo!

@BobS – better hurry or I will steal your idea and sell it to OCC for their Michael Jackson tribute chopper

Not for me thanks. I may be old school, but I still go along with the saying ” Ride to Live” / “Live to Ride” Those Cagers with all their electronics in their faces are lucky if they even see your headlight.

Its apparent to me that all the readers that have responded to this new product are well read and law abiding citizens and I applaud that. However, the product is actually advertised as a 7″all LED Headlamp with built in turn signals or running lights. For those customers who feel that they would be breaking law by using the built in side LED’s as turn signals, they can simply wire the side LED’s to a constant keyed 12v source to use them as running lights. For those customers that don’t want to use the side LED’s as turn signals or running lights, just don’t wire them in at all. Its still the best value for a all LED headlight available at $282 and to top that off it uses the latest technology in super bright LED’s making it one of the brightest lights on the market if not the brightest.
