“Shaped to smooth wind flow around the headlamp and handlebar mount gauges, this compact screen sits just above the headlamp”.

While I am a Harley guy, you gotta wonder about this offering. $250. to keep the wind off the headlamp and handlebar mount gauges????? Are they cold?

Actually the little wind-screen deflects quite a bit of direct wind, causing an unstable air mass, so that the wind around your head is more like riding in a convertible with the top down and the windows rolled up.
    Slick.

It’s where you are all wrong. Almost all what Harley does sells very well.

Cause manly bikes need parts that are bikini like. And if you think 250 is bad you should see what high quality heels and handbags go for these days!

Let’s see a coffee can, small piece of plexiglass, high output hair dryer, drill with bits along with a couple of mounting brakets should do the trick. Oh yea and possibly a hand held jig saw.

Great weekend project for the DIY crowd. You could even build it using color matching plexi-glass which would match up with paint on your ride.

are you kidding at that price I’ll buy a couple of ’em. and I don’t even have a sportster

Is mounting hardware sold seperately and is this
an American made product or Asian, or India????.

Wow HD where did you get that Idea? oh yeah National Cycle! NC has a better looking screen for $155 (page 49 of 2013 BC catalog) unless you NEED to pay an extra $100 dollars for the HD name. is that what it satnds for HD? Hunner Dollars?

Shifter…. it’s where you’re wrong. They MAY sell some, but no where near what they would sell if the price wasn’t from another galaxy. sheesh.

It would be Great! 🙂 if Harley made half-moon foot boards for 2007-up Sportsters.

The 2013, 1200xlcustom ships with “pavement (curb) feelers” studs screwed-into the bottom of the foot pegs, at the ends, to let the rider know by feel of dragging metal, when his/her tip-angle is approaching beyond recovery. The pegs can be removed once you learn how the machine handles. The studs are removable, but I’m not implying they were “training wheels”. I have forward controls and mini-apes. I like the dominating set-up.

There’s room for a modified half-moon design foot board supports. The forward-pegs can flip-up, because at the end of the foot peg boss, the foot peg blade fit’s into a vertical slot. That takes care of the new foot board’s front mount. Remove the peg and have foot boards that flip-up when parked and covered. Just-like-the-peg-Sportster.

    Needs two (R&L) screw-hole jigs:
For the left-rear foot board (cast) support “bracket”, there’s an unused, 1″ round boss welded to the frame with a rubber cover over it, (in front of the big inspection cover’s plumb line). Tap that unused frame-boss for a male-threaded, gimballed “bracket” receiver.

For the right-rear, the cast bracket has to reach between the exhaust system (plumb-line below the “points” inspection cover), and an existing oblong boss welded to the frame that has two 5/16 plugs (looks like the forward controls boss welded to a knuck or pan).
It’s all there ….. go look… albeit, the 2014 Sportster1200cp’s have a different exhaust system – and I don’t know if they still have the 2″ clearance between the cam cover, exhaust, and frame boss even? But there is something already factory-welded to the frames that might me usable.
Foot boards would be nice. A rocker-shift option, with a shorter heel section than the toe section.
