This cool car was driven by hipster Ed “Kookie ” Byrnes in the classic ’60’s TV series “77 Sunset Strip” and was featured in Life Magazine once featured this car at this Bob’s, on it’s cover!! In the back, other great rods, customs, woodies, gassers, and even a Harley chopper. Also making the scene are an assortment of cool dudes, hot babes, and even a Burbank P.D.cop.

If you grew up in Los Angeles between 1950 and 1970, you cruised a Bob’s Big Boy every Friday night! Depicted here is a scene from the summer of ’62 at the Bob’s in Toluca Lake (Burbank) California. Built in 1949, this is the oldest Bob’s still standing, and amazingly, on any Friday night it’s still L.A.’s most popular cruising scene.
