One more choice in the popular category of round air cleaners.
This new release belongs to the Grand Prix Edition of Precision Billet air cleaner series.
Called “Turbine”, it features carbon fiber inlay under the 6061 T6 Billet aluminum cover.
Available for EFI & Non-EFI Harley-Davidson motorcycles. MSRP in black as shown $419.00 (+S35 for chrome).
Such a deal!
Can I get double chrome? I have to wonder just how many air cleaner choices are there. As they say, “Do you do billet? No, we’re COD!”

Not bad
RE: “…not bad..”
But not particularly “good” either…

It looks fine, but for 400+ bucks I’m going to need to see a dyno chart showing a pretty decent improvement in power. For that price I’m going to need more than just looks good.
I will NEVER understand why an item that costs $10 to manufacture fetches a price tag of $419! Nor will I ever understand stupid Americans (or anyone else) who will pay the cost. No wonder this country is in such sad shape.
@ 4bs. $10???? For sure you have never been in business. Cost is at least $350 before margin, marketing, etc.
Brett Wagner, and that is why companies get their own designs CNC manufactured in Taiwan or China for less than a quarter of the cost for a virtually identical item made in The US.CNC manufacture means the labor cost per unit is almost zero.If there is more than 15 minutes of machining in total, including bolting and unbolting the billet to the bed I would be amazed. If only CNC machines could spit out jobs for people as fast as shiny lumps.
Eh, I’m with Brett. An injection moulder could make something CLOSE out of shiny chromed plastic pretty cheap but even if I contract an overseas company to CNC mill them out of billet the market is so flooded with Harley air cleaners I don’t see economies of scale making it worth the trouble. I know that it costs a lot more than 10 bucks to make, and profit isn’t a dirty word. If Precision Billet makes something people want they should make some money selling it. For me personally I just want performance gains out of a 400 dollar intake.
You are buying art work, not an air cleaner. Art is expensive. And exclusive.
They may only sell 20. But the ones with those 20 have something unique, well as unique as anything in the customized cruiser market can be.
Rod
Give me a standard round Evo cover or an S&S teardrop any day.
All these new fangled covers are just bling for the masses! (and idiots if they are willing to fork out $450 for a chrome cover)
Rod,art is made by artists, not a tungsten carbide bit cutting at 20K Rpm,with the “artist” sitting in a plastic chair slurpin’ a slurpee and scratching his nuts.
Graeme,I can only agree with you.
Looks very familiar
Let’s see:
