cyril-Huze-fast-newsIndian Motorcycle Coming To India. Indian Motorcycle to follow Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Ducati in India in late January 2014. The new Indian Chiefs will be the 3 other choices in the high-end cruiser market for Indians with deep pockets. The first dealership should be in Dehli, followed by 2 more outlets in Mumbai and Bangalore. Polaris has already a presence in India with its ATVs and also inked an agreement with the Eicher Group to launch in 2015 a range of personal mobility vehicles.

Triumph Announces Record Annual Sales But An Operating Loss. Triumph sold 52,089 motorcycles from its fiscal year 2013, setting a new company record for annual sales. The 52,089 motorcycles sold represent a 6.4% increase on the 48,957 motorcycles sold in the previous fiscal year. At the same time, the company announced an operating loss of £95,000 (US$ 155,300), the company’s first time in the red since 2009. Much of the operating loss was caused by foreign currency exchanges and the cost of starting up manufacturing facilities in Brazil and India. In Brazil, Triumph claims a 3.4% market share of sales for motorcycles 500cc and larger in just its first year of operation.

Erik Buell Racing To Enter 2014 World Superbike Championship. Erik Buell Racing (EBR) will compete in the 2014 Superbike World Championship (WSBK) under the ‘Team Hero EBR’ banner. In contrast with MotoGP where purpose-built machines are used and continually enhanced, the WSBK will only accept motorcycles that are tuned versions of those available for sale to the public. EBR will be expected to produce 125 units of the 1190 TX before offering the bike for entry in the WSBK series. By 30 June 2014, they must produce a total of 500 bikes, with a grand total of 1,000 by the end of the year itself. This amounts to approximately three bikes built a day, a substantial demand from a small manufacturer. Not only will these figures have to be repeated in 2015, but EBR also have to sell these units. Since there are, as yet, no sales statistics on the EBR 1190 RX, it’s difficult to draw any conclusions on how EBR might fare in the process.

Best of (racing) luck to the EBR team. I’m betting they will do very well.

ABC’s focus is on an educational experience. Milwaukee is good (spring and summer), but DC is better if a family is on a tight budget (yes, you have to stay outside the city). Most everything is free.

But ask a kid if they would rather go to Orlando or any of these other cities…

Even with buckets of Indian sponsor money I doubt EBR superbikes will be competitive in WSBK racing.

MILWAUKEE???? Seriously? Guess if you can afford to live in one of the more affluent areas were they DON’T average more than a shooting a day. Granted not all are fatal, but should we reward people for bad aim? Milwaukee is a great city to visit and then leave, not live.

They had the 102nd killing of the year this morning. A cook asked some rowdy folks to settle down so one left and came back with a gun & shot him dead.

Hey Terence , I want to congratulate you on your one millionth stupid comment.guess you don’t recall what Danny Eslick did on his Buell in AMA.competetive is absolute, domination is a possibility with the right rider.Do you think about your comments or do they just fall out of your ass?

Saltwaterjoe,How Danny Eslick copes with “World Guys” on a race track it will be a completely different scene than a stateside series.Fifth in a U.S. series translates to near about “just qualifying” in European road racing.IMHO all of Erik’s horses and all of India’s men will find it hard to put a Buell on the podium, again.

I hope Eslick does well, but I doubt Buell WSBK racers will be anything but mid-pack runners.Time will tell. One problem is Erik Buell has always been:”too good, not too bad”.

Milwaukee is the kind of City you Visit twice, First & Last! HE must be the Publisher of the Magazine or Pamphlet. Eric I wish you the best. You should be able to Build the Bikes, HE gave you a lot of Inventory, just to get out of the Buell Thing… I really thought that the Timing was wrong. Your Bikes are hitting the Young Bloods [The Dudes] are in the Market Now. I see how Confederate has a bit of influence on the Germans Builder!

    • They even went to the expense of making a jig for replication •

One of the first problem’s encountered previously in the market was with the front header. It seemed to me that it need a sharper curve towards the motor. Not so. It turns out that Harley-Davidson’s front headers were both twisted & curved.

Bruce Palmer III, new, and re-written Harley-Davidson Restoration book is due to be released, with all intent, by spring or summer of 2014 – reportedly available in retail stores as well.
