Tonight. New “Biker Battleground Phoenix” TV Series To Debut On History Channel.

3BB4BB5BB6BBThe 9-episode new TV reality series aims to take viewers inside the world of custom bike building with 5 shops in the Valley Of The Sun (Phoenix) in a build-off competition for the most radical/badass Bagger.

The 5 builders are: John Shope (Dirty Birds Concepts), Len Edmonson who moved from Canada to Phoenix to be in the show (Azzkikr Customs), Paul Yaffe (Baggers Nation), Kody McNew (Voodoo Customs) and Brian Jenkins (Hatred Customs)

With this new series, the History Channel expects to grab the market on the genre with the production encouraging each builder to show a big ego, to brag about his own creative talent and to bash the work of his competitors. As you already know, TV will do whatever it takes to build a large audience, in this case bikers and non-bikers… The 1st episode of ”Biker Battleground Phoenix” is tonight Tuesday July 1st at 10ET/9C. In parallel to the show, you can enter for a chance to win a custom bagger from John Shope’s Dirty Bird Concepts. Register at Biker Battleground Phoenix Sweepstakes. If you watch the show, tell me tomorrow morning what you think of it. (all photography @ History Channel courtesy to Cyril Huze)

  10. 10 Ross Jul 1st, 2014 at 12:09 pm

It’s true that they look terrible. Maybe their baggers look better 🙂

  11. 11 Woody Jul 1st, 2014 at 12:15 pm

Whew, at least CNBC has a Shark Tank rerun I can watch instead. These guys could have been used to make an awesome show, but we know from the teasers that they weren’t.

  12. 12 P. Hamilton. Jul 1st, 2014 at 12:38 pm

A soap opera written mostly for non-bikers.

  13. 13 Drake Jul 1st, 2014 at 12:43 pm

In one year high end bagger building will come to a halt. So…

  14. 14 Mike909 Jul 1st, 2014 at 1:08 pm

They know to fabricate custom motorcycles but devote their skills to modern Ben Hur Chariots. So, I am not interested.

  15. 15 Brutus Jul 1st, 2014 at 1:12 pm

They build what is exactly the opposite of what a true motorcycle is all about and should always be. Sad.

  16. 16 Scotty Jul 1st, 2014 at 1:36 pm

    Bigger egos you die.

I already commented but I forgot this part…Bad boy tats? Check. Soul patch/goatee? check. Tough guy look? check. Bagger bullshit? Check. Huge ass rear tire for no reason? Check. Wagon wheels coming? Check. Douche audience? Big check.

  21. 21 grmp54 Jul 2nd, 2014 at 8:47 am

Please make it stop….they are just soooooo scary looking

  22. 22 1550tc Jul 2nd, 2014 at 9:25 am

Shoppe is a real character, met Jenkins in sturgis a few years back and to me a pretty humble guy

this whole AZ BIG WHEEL BAGGERS are like the 330 rear tires a fad and not what 99% of riders

these biles are like porn stars, fun to ride and look at but you dont want to be married to one

its tv ……….. if it was real, no one would watch IT

  23. 23 Buster Jul 2nd, 2014 at 11:01 am

You don’t even have to watch it to know it’s stupid , the marketing is dumb and I bet the bikes will be a joke too.All these shows trying to recapture the Monster Garage / Motorcycle Mania days , I don’t think it’s going to happen. IF it brings more business to the industry than fine but otherwise I’d rather sit back and watch the sun go down.

  24. 24 Blackmax Jul 2nd, 2014 at 5:08 pm

    Not so fast guys!!!
At least watch the damn show
(At least it’s ABOUT motorcycles & some damn trick ones at that)
Yeah, pumped up drama but its got to be better that 9/10th of the crap that’s on TV nowadays
    (Maybe)

  25. 25 Sharrack Jul 2nd, 2014 at 5:33 pm

Best bike show ever: BUILD OR BUST ON SPEED CHANNEL.

  26. 26 Sharrack Jul 2nd, 2014 at 5:47 pm

I just saw an affliction t shirt on that show!! RED ALERT RED ALERT! The 90’s are calling !!

  27. 27 Woody Jul 2nd, 2014 at 5:50 pm

Sorry Blackmax, I lasted 5-8 minutes and then had to change the channel. Just more drama garbage. Too bad, a lot of talent wasted.

  28. 28 Blackmax Jul 4th, 2014 at 1:36 pm

Hey Woody, i never said it would be good
I watched the 1st show today… Granted the writing seems right out of “The Devil’s/Dumb asses Ride” And remember that none of these guys are actors (Sons of Asswipes)
But it’s still about motorcycles (though not as much building as I was led to believe), therefore I stand by my earlier entry, It’s still better than most of the crap on TV these days.
They say any publicity is good for the industry, we will wait & see ????

  29. 29 BDH77 Jul 4th, 2014 at 3:29 pm

This show is bullshit, the days of REAL custom bike building are dead and will never be again thanks to CRAP like this!!! When I was building bikes with Russell Marlowe we BUILT real custom bikes from the ground up from the frame to handle bars and had to make most of our own components and we did not have DEEP POCKETS to fall back on, we had to make parts from scrap metal sometimes and you never saw a stupid ass 330, 360 tire on the back of our bikes or BIG ASS STUPID DONK wheels up front, our customs you could actually ride, enjoy and feel good about your high dollar investment! This DONK bagger CRAP was just getting started when we had to close the doors to the bike shop and thank god because we wanted no part of it, if that is what we had to resort to in order to stay in business we would rather be doing what we are doing now working everyday real life jobs with benifits! My hat is off to Paul because he managed to stay afloat in this business when most of the other big name builders had to close shop and get real jobs, Paul is a true MASTER BUILDER not just some rich guy or cock young punk who thinks he has what it takes to make it in the custom bike building business, I got to hang out with Paul on a few different occasions at shows and rallies he is a cocky outspoken guy but he is good at what he does and knows this business. These so called new builders need to show him the respect he deserves or it will probably come back to bite them all in their asses!!! LONG LIVE THE TRUE CUSTOM BIKE AND TO HELL WITH THESE STUPID ASS GANGSTER BAGGERS that look like something out of a low budget RAP video!

  30. 30 Sharrack Jul 6th, 2014 at 6:47 pm

Gotta say…..i’m from phx and enjoy the bikes our local builders put out….but i just observed the coming attractions of this weeks episode………. Uh….not good.
Maybe i was seeing things….but i doubt it.

Please lord……someone get smart and recreate BUILD OR BUST.

  31. 31 RUB Jul 8th, 2014 at 6:19 am

all these “bikers” should have there man cards removed . sell outs ………………

  32. 32 steven Jul 9th, 2014 at 6:49 pm

soap opera no, actual bile building yes. When you change to actual bike building let me know!!

  33. 33 Sharrack Jul 9th, 2014 at 9:16 pm

I stand corrected……the 2nd episode was better than the first. Less shope / yaffe fake drama and more
Attention paid to the smaller builders.
But again…..almost no actual build footage or technical fun.

  34. 34 MildMan Jul 16th, 2014 at 8:02 am

what a fake. all they do is take pigs and dress them up, put on makeup and parade them around and at the end of the day they are still pigs!!! its like trying to watch a bunch of wanna be rocket scientists trying to put together a puzzle rated for 2 year olds and they aint got a clue. im sure billy lane is falling out his chair watching this crap.hell you have indian larry rising from his grave its so stupid! its not even a show. like that fag crap on the weather channel. the morning show with fag champion. Christ its either fags, wannabees, or leftover junkies from the 60,s and 70,s.

  35. 35 MildMan Jul 16th, 2014 at 8:06 am

mr dirtybird shit is gonna end up with his face imprinted in the grill of a mack truck or body wrapped around a chain link fence. what a fake hes not a badass biker hes a baby ass smeared with baby shit and snot running out his nose!
