Ariel Ace Motorcycle

ace1AcebisThis kind of contraption does absolutely nothing to me but some of you may appreciate the new Ariel Ace Motorcycle. A spectacular all aluminum alloy billet frame, a 1237cc water-cooled Honda engine good for over 170hp with a top speed of 165mph and acceleration of 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. No bad… You can choose your gas tank volume, front end , brakes, bars, seat, exhaust, well almost everything except frame and engine. And your personalized Ace will be signed by the single technician who will assemble it. Ariel Ace Motorcycle.

If the Ace is anything like the Atom, you’d have to ride it to appreciate it.

The Atom is brilliant . As it should be considering the fact that Gordon Murray [ former McLaren F1 team and F1 road car designer ] designed the little beast for Ariel . The Ace though ? Honestly … I have my doubts . All bets are its a futile attempt to revive a M/C brand that was never that good to begin with . Especially in light of what will no doubt be a ridiculously high price tag .. considering all the ‘ assembled by one technician ‘ hype . Another Hinkley Triumph success story this one will not be I’m afraid . More like another revival about to fail

This would probably be attractive to those who like the Diavel…

    Price aside,

Don’t think it’ll appeal to those only capable of “driving” (as opposed to “riding”) a motorcycle.
Face it, tippy-toeing one of these from bar to bar wouldn’t do much for your image…….. :-)

I’m think-n those who want a hot-rod, with the imagination and ability would, presumably want to build their won. Seems a very limited market play.

    But then…… Its a Hot-rod…… and hot-rods are cool….

Cmon guys take a big set of nuts to ride a machine like this. Having just purchased an Aprilia Tuono which is the Italian version of this kind of, let me tell you, you don’t know the fun you are missing. Makes my s&s 124 with 132rwhp and 142 rwtq feel like a slug. If you are a true gearhead you can appreciate different kinds of machinery. You have to admit the direction that customs are going today is ridiculous. Try some different flavors before you die. Oh I guess that’s if you don’t want to waddle to the next beer and burger joint.

Areil built some fine Motorcycles. The last of the Square fours were very cool and quick for their time.
If it takes big nuts to ride an Ace, no Women will be riding one…joke !.

By the way Rich Gaal I am single and like all varieties of life including exotic Motorcycles…….

Not all of the lads waddle, there is the occasional stagger and limp………..

I have seen one of these whizzing about the Crewtherne area, saw the girder forks and thought it was a Crampton – and now find its an Ariel.
If you have seen the cars you will see why this bike looks the way it does.
It is costly but will appeal to rich riders. Have just seen a Healey Square Four at Poole Quays Bike Night so similar thing going on 30 odd years ago but tother way round – Ariel engine in another frame…

Again, not my cup of tea..
But “What is one’s man’s garbage is another man’s dessert” !
If you like it, you buy it
Never talk bad about another man’s bike

Fast and all that… but damn, that’s ugly.

Looks like a camel-humped insect with wheels.

Hey designers: the “naked bike” look isn’t modern, it’s hideous! Time for that styling fad to end!
