For all custom builders, pros, semi-pros, amateurs and proud owners, another bike show during the Sturgis rally. The Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show presented by J&P Cycles will be held August 6, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. downtown Sturgis on Lazelle and 4th Street near the community center. And for all bagger customizers, there will be a new Radical Bagger Class. There are 5 entry categories:
1) Freestyle – open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train
2) Modified Harley – open to any year Harley Davidson. Must have stock Harley Engine cases and frame maintaining original configuration. Rear end mods allowed (i.e., altered swing arms, fat tire kits and rigid sections)
3) Radical Bagger – Based on a modified or OEM frame. Requires fairing and saddlebags. Any drivetrain is acceptable.
4) Retro Mod – open class for any build with a motorcycle based drive train 25 years or older
5) Modified Street – Must have major OEM; Honda Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Polaris, Triumph, Ducati, etc., manufactured frame and engine cases. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are not allowed in this class. This class is designed for mild custom sport bikes and cruisers without frame configuration modifications and stretched swing arms. Cruisers are allowed to use hard tail sections.
