This may be a great belt. It may even be stronger than other belts. Unfortunately the marketing weasel phrase “up to” has been used, making it essentially meaningless. Think about it. And you should think about every claim that uses the same phrase. Consider a retail outlet that emblazons across their window “Sale – up to 90% off!” What does that mean? It is too easy for people to read it as “Sale – 90% off!” When in fact every item in the shop – except one – could still be at retail and just one single item reduced by 90%. Discount any claims using this misleading phrase without closer scrutiny. This endeth the lesson.
I used a few of these belts when they first came out under the Drag Specialties name on different applications and all broke the same year. I will stick with Gates thanks.
I have had the same experience as Avgjoe.
