On April 22, 2015, Don Mahoney of Carlsbad, CA along with partner Lars Roulund of Santa Ana, California based High End Seating Solutions (HESS), the makers of Danny Gray Seats acquired the AIRHAWK® Comfort Seating Systems brand and product line.
AIRHAWK, a brand of seat overlays serving motorcycle enthusiasts, and HESS, a high-end motorcycle seat design and manufacturing company, have a history of partnership.
HESS has been manufacturing custom seats that integrate AIRHAWK’s air-cushion technology since 2011. Manufacturing of AIRHAWK will relocate from Belleville, Ill. to HESS facilities in Santa Ana, Calif.
In 2004, Danny Gray formed a collaborative partnership with High End Products and in 2011, entered into a joint venture – known as High End Seating Systems – to combine their heritage of custom design and production with clinician-approved AIRHAWK DRY FLOATATION Technology,
Don Mahoney, managing partner of HESS, is excited to bring the Danny Gray and AIRHAWK brands together. “The integration of these two quality brands will ultimately benefit our customers by offering even more advances in quality, comfortable seating.”
The two companies are working together during the transition of manufacturing to California to ensure that riders will have access to AIRHAWK products throughout the 2015 riding season.
I love my AirHawk seats and have used them on my vintage bikes on 2 cross-country Motorcycle Cannonball races and hopefully on the 2016 Cannonball next year.
