Harley-Davidson Motor Co.’s plant in Springettsbury Township produced the kits containing the part that was the subject of the company’s voluntary recall of, a company spokeswoman said. The part involved in the recall was made by Hayes Brake Performance Systems.

First Female Biker Cop In South Dakota. And She Will Be Working The 75th Sturgis Rally. For the first time in 30 years, the South Dakota Highway Patrol is adding motorcycles to its force.  Six troopers are now trained for three motorcycles. One in Sioux Falls, one in Pierre and one in Rapid City. For the first time, a female went through the training and is now patrolling South Dakota highways. 27 year old Chasney Ford grew up in Sturgis was thrilled when she was picked for the new assignment. With her petite size, 5.5” ft, 120 pounds,  she admits it is a challenge to do her job on a motorcycle. Be nice and say hi to her while in Sturgis.

Harley-Davidson Inc. Declares Dividend. The Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE:HOG) Board of Directors has approved a cash dividend of $0.31 per share for the second quarter of 2015. The dividend is payable June 12, 2015, to the holders of record of the Company’s common stock on May 28, 2015.

Harley-Davidson Plans Direct Distribution To Dealers In Canada By Early August 2015. Harley-Davidson and Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada, the current exclusive distributor of Harley-Davidson products in Canada, have signed an agreement paving the way for Harley-Davidson to begin direct distribution to independently owned Harley-Davidson dealers in Canada, aligning Harley-Davidson’s Canada distribution with the company’s global go-to-market strategy. Harley-Davidson previously announced its intent to assume direct distribution in Canada no later than July 31, 2017, when the company’s current agreement ends with Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada. The transaction is expected to close on or about August 4, 2015, at which time Harley-Davidson expects to operate in Canada through a newly established, company owned subsidiary based in Concord, Ontario. The new subsidiary office will be led by Anoop Prakash, who will immediately assume the role of Managing Director, Harley-Davidson Canada. Prakash most recently served as Managing Director of Harley-Davidson India.
