For The 1st Time, India Police To Use Customized Harley Davidson Street 750 Motorcycles

indiapoliceThe Harley Davidson dealer in Ahmedabad has delivered six customized Street 750 to the Gujarat, India Police Department. This is the first time that a police department in India use a Harley Street model. The motorcycles will be used primarily for quick response actions by the police department, including the escort of senior ministers and visiting dignitaries and emergency response as part of a natural disaster response team, among others.

Part of me wanting to laugh my (bleep) off …. Part of me wanting to break down and cry . Yeah … its a start alright . The start of what being the question at hand … ugh ….

The local Police Chief in Goa will not be amused…
I spoke to him a few years ago when I stopped at the local Enfield dealer which had a big long row of white bikes outside – he said “I have brought these..what do you think?” explaining that HE was buying the bikes himself personally not the Police Department (as it had no money).
“Must buy local” he said, also keeping local mechanics in business.. even though its built in India I can’t quite see the local mechanics fixing these at the roadside..
