Canada Recalls Harley Street 500s, 750s For fuel Pump Defect. And In The US? Canada issued a recall for fuel pump defect on Harley-Davidson Street XG500 and XG 750 models. According to Transport Canada Recall No. 2015363, the fuel pump module may have a poor seal at the inlet on the 2015 model year. The condition could allow an interruption to the fuel supply when accelerating at low fuel levels, possibly before the low fuel indicator has illuminated. “If this condition remains undetected, under acceleration with the fuel level below 3 litres, it could result in the motorcycle briefly hesitating and then restoring power abruptly, which could lead to a loss of control” and increase the risk of a crash, Transport Canada stated. Canadian dealers will install a new fuel pump assembly. Owners of Street 500 & 700 in the USA are waiting to see if the NHTSA publishes the same recall announcement.

I rode a Street 750 at the local dealership and got a free T shirt to boot! The bike I rode had the fuel pump problem. When cruising it was fine, but if you whack the throttle, it would buck and hump and bump. I switched bikes with the salesman, so I could get a feel of a normal running Street 750, and they are pretty respectable. Not my cup of tea, but would make a great commuter bike, first bike, or just a solid all around bike for someone. It had plenty of power, just more like a high revving type of power that you would expect from a jap bike. Not in a bad way. The ride was solid and felt like a Harley should. Not a bad little bike.

the lag and leap problem is quite annoying, been putting a lot of miles on one recently and its frustrating at low fuel levels. now if they would just order the recall for the american bikes too…
