Triumph Sets An All-Time Record For Motorcycle Sales In September In North America

Triumph11Triumph Motorcycles America based in Atlanta, Georgia and its dealer partners had a tremendous month as they set a new, all-time record for motorcycle unit retail sales for the month of September in North America. Retail sales records were set both by U.S. and Canadian dealers, selling 1,063 and 103 motorcycles, respectively, eclipsing the previous September mark established last year.

“The hard work and commitment of our retailers made September a big month for Triumph in North America,” said Matt Sheahan, COO of Triumph Motorcycles America. “The Triumph brand has never been stronger, and we are looking forward to making some really exciting announcements later this month at our Global Dealer Conference in London to continue to build on this momentum.”

Triumph also announced an extension of the Endless Summer program. In the U.S., buyers of new, select Triumph motorcycles can choose between a special financing offer or receive up to $2,500 back in the form of Triumph vouchers. These vouchers are redeemable in Triumph dealerships or at Shop Triumph Motorcycles. For further information on Triumph’s consumer incentive programs, complete line of motorcycles and to find a local dealer, visit Triumph Motorcycles.

I’d like to think I helped with that, but I did not purchase mine until yesterday. Maybe October will be a great month as well. I got the Danny Eslick Daytona 675R, and I still can’t wipe the grin off my face…
For those interested they’re giving a $500 military discount that can be used in conjunction with the vouchers.

I just picked up the Danny Eslick Daytona 675R from them yesterday. Couldn’t be happier.
For military guys out there – you get an additional “Thank our Heros” $500 off in ADDITION to the vouchers. Run, don’t walk, to the nearest dealership.

And all this from a brand that went “extinct” Twice…… !!!
    Is there a lesson here…???
What sort of financial and or labor mismanagement causes such anomalies……???

    Just wondering.

Triumph does still show up as one of the worst for ownership satisfaction however….

Love them or leave them The shift is still on the wrong side. ..Z

  6. 6 BadMonkeyMW Oct 4th, 2015 at 5:52 pm

Uh, the shifter is on the left side as mandated for every bike sold in the US since 1974, genius.

Triumph is getting it right for sure. They have advanced more than any other major brand in the world in the last ten years, and even during the severe economic downturn between 2008-2010 when all the other big manufacturers were losing their asses – Triumph actually increased their sales each of those years.

You can hate all you want, but you can’t argue with success.

*and for the record, I don’t own a Triumph, so I’m not blowing their horn just because I have one.

triumphs are an amazing marque and did they really ever completely stop manufacturing, there was always something being thrown together most years.
    Bonneville, what a great name.
They are going to bring out some bigger engine versions soon.
What a great time to ride with all these Brands back again

I wonder how these numbers compare to the original brand in its heyday, say around 1960.

Good for them! I saw they bring back a “Shampoo” commemorative edition.

    Ed,

Love Motohistory. Are you going to add new material to it ever? I hope so, cause Cyril, Odd bike, Kneeslider and your page are some of the best for bike lovers like us.

    Thanks

    Awesome, one month of success!

Powersports Business just announced the latest industry market share figures:
    – Triumph 2%
    – Piaggio 2% (and they don’t even have a dealer network!)
    – BMW 4%
    -Ducati 3%
-Can Am 2% so they are selling as many of these goofy three wheelers as Triumph is for their 20 plus “models”…which are really just variations of the same core bikes.

Somehow these facts were left out of the press release haha

  13. 13 Joshua Oct 5th, 2015 at 2:44 pm

Vforce. I didn’t know that a percentage means the same number of units for all manufacturers. Ha, ha, ha. And what your comment has to do with Triumph setting its own record?

  14. 14 Blackmax Oct 5th, 2015 at 5:49 pm

    I’m happy for them
America, Speedmaster, Thunderbird, T-Storm & the triple
It’s all good, but as stated by VForce, above
I don’t think H-D, Indian or Victory are worried

    RE:
“…shifter is on the left side as mandated for every bike…”

Another example of the Government sticking its incompetent nose into places where it doesn’t belong.

Perfect economical symmetry …. Left hand clutch… Right foot shift…..
But -no-…. some clown just had to piss in the punch bowel.
Resulting in added linkage going through the primary drive just to satisfy the need for bureaucrat supremacy.

Gott-a-be a is a major piss-off factor for any engineer.

I would probably believe this news post. Would be very interesting how much profit was made of the record number of Triumph sold!

Almost all of the Triumph dealers in America took a serious hit from Triumph on their Auto-Stock program and majority was selling every one of their 2013-14 Triumph Motorcycles at Dealers cost or lower!
What consumer wouldn’t buy a bike when its that dirt cheap?

Can anyone one officially answer that question? How much profit was made on total Triumph bikes sold? I bet its absolutely shocking if we knew the answer!!!!!!!

Its just nice to see something on the road other than the usual mis-fireing HD’s!
