Harley Davidson CEO Wants Net-Zero Greenhouse Emissions By 2050. Many influential CEO’s have already committed to a global goal of net-zero greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 and urged other business leaders to match this ambition by committing to bold long-term targets. Harley-Davidson joined the group of the world’s biggest car and motorcycle makers who promised to make bold moves to support decarbonization. They know that the fossil fuel industries’ days are numbered and that the same way guzzling motorcycles have defined a post WWII generation, the freedom from oil, clean energy and zero emission may define the next one. Jochen Seitz, who is on the Harley-Davidson Board of Directors, signed the commitment letter.

ConvExx and Hollister Rally Part Ways for Future Rallies. ConvExx, the producers of the 2015 Hollister Freedom Rally announced that they will not return to produce the rally in 2016. Rally Chairman Chuck Schwartz stated, “We are certainly disappointed that we will not be able to help with the rally in the future.  We went into this relationship with the hopes of building upon the great tradition of the Hollister motorcycle rally for the long term.  We believe the rally has great potential for the future; however we could not come to an understanding with all the interested parties associated with the rally for the future.” The 2015 rally was stated as having an estimated attendance of over 40,000.

Kuryakyn Holdings Filed A Lawsuit Against Ciro LLC For Copyright Infringement. On November 2, 2015, via its Counsel Paul T. Olszowka from Todd G. Vare of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Kuryakyn Holdings, Inc. filed in Wisconsin Western District Court a complaint against Ciro LLC and Christopher Lindloff, Ken Madden, Darron May and Thomas Rudd for copyright infringement. All 4 individuals are former Kuryakyn employees. In the filing, Kuryakyn is attaching their employment agreements and Thomas Rudd resignation letter. The complaint is for damages and injunctive relief.

Harley-Davidson Opened Its 19th Dealership In India. There are now 19 independent Harley-Davidson dealership facilities across India. Joining cities like Surat, Panjim, Indore, Jaipur and Lucknow. It’s the 4th dealership in the state of Nagpur. India dealerships sell a lineup of 12 Harley models.

Harley-Davidson Now Offers Free Motorcycle Riding Classes To First Responders. In addition to all current and former members of the US military, starting January 1, 2016 Harley-Davidson will offer motorcycle riding classes to all first responders, including firefighters, police, emergency medical service personnel. Last summer, Harley-Davidson dealers had more than 6,500 military personnel and veterans participate in the free training program.

    Lets hope the “…all the interested parties associated with the [Holister] rally] for the future …” don’t want another two wheeled “Burning Man” event. Enough of those exist already…. 🙁
