BDL’s new TC2PB-2 and TC2PS -2 Open Belt drive systems feature a 2-piece motor plate design with 2” belt and were developed specifically for use on both Softail and Bagger models from 2007 and up. TC2PB-2 is for the Baggers and the TC2PS-2 is for the Softail models 2007-up.
Kits fit 52-69 pulley combinations for a 1.32:1 drive ratio. However, belt profiles are unique to each requiring matched pulleys to the specific belt, no interchanging. Front pulley face and spring collar have matching patterns and the front pulley is counter bored for a super clean open appearance. The 6 bolt diaphragm clutch configuration is new providing a slightly different, more firm feel while improving the appearance.
Both kits comes with a custom side and top guard which provide for that aggressive open dome look. Additionally the spring and collar have been enhanced in order to provide more positive lock up when used with big inch and high horsepower engines. The kits come in black, chrome or polished with either a 2014-up hydraulic or standard ball bearing pressure plate. Suggested retail for the complete kit starts at $2070.50. That is gorgeous. Great work from BDL!
Never could understand open belts. I had enough problems with my pant legs getting caught in my bike chain as a kid. Don’t really want to drive around with a “belt sander” next to my foot.
That open lower run of the belt is just begging to ingest a stone,
Neat looking setup, and that belt drive cover would help make it legal in most localities and do a good job of stopping your pants getting caught in it
I am really glad that I am not the only Person that doesn’t get this Dangerous feature on a Bagger. I do understand the Look and the sound even. I never quite wanted to risk getting my Pants caught in an Open Belt. Maybe this is just for Bike that want to be seen, heard and Not Ridden. wait now I get it!
NEWS FLASH…. riding a motorcycle is dangerous!
Open belt drives are only dangerous if you let them be. I’ve ridden a 3″ open belt on a rigid 10ft chopper for 6yrs and there has never been a dangerous moment, because I didn’t stick my hands, feet or anything else in it. People have been riding open belts for years with no issue. If you’ve never ridden with one then you don’t know what your talking about. Same as those who see a lay frame bike and say “you can’t ride that it will bottom out… Educate, experience then comment.
Well done by BDL. always love their OBDs
