Last weekend May 26-29 motorcycle madness in Germany was at Magic Bike Ruedesheim on the Rhine river. The German tourist destination out of Frankfurt has been a popular destination for decades, but nothing prepared the town for what was rolling into town for the 15th anniversary of the event that started as a local meet of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts living in the region. A few pictures of the event and of the custom bikes, some being quite weird…

Some nice bikes, Led Sled is cool,
Never been comfortable with Chook Chaser tires on a road bike.
Having fallen off because of not so good tires in the rain when young, I cannot get past them
Lots of Euro style & it is lookin good !!!
I knew the “Big Wheel” bagger had gone across the pond,
but did not know how prevalent it was ??
Thanks Cyril !!!
Just added another destination/show to my “Bucket List”
Seriously! Before I read the caption “Best of Show” I thought it was a Rat Bike. Nothing wrong with that just mislabled. ..Z
I think it’s great that they allowed the visually impaired to judge “Best of Show”.
Two words…..chuck wagon. Rhymes with train wreck!
James just another crazy Kiwi,
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a Chook Chaser tire? Is it the knobbies on the Sportster or Ledsled?
Thanks
SYF
From Strange or Plain, in this context its “Creativity” that makes a look-see interesting….
Not so much searching for a “working motorcycle”……
-nicker-
I almost always find something to like at these shows, but this one. Whew.
A chook, pronounced like look, is slang for chicken.
A chook chaser or “chookie” is a big bore dirt bike like an XR 500. You need a fast one to chase “bush chooks” (emu) in the outback.
The current crop of FAAB (Fart Arsed Adventure Bikes like the R1200 GS are sometimes called Super Chooks.
Thanks Septic, I never knew that. I guess it’s an Aussie/Kiwi word.
