Ness stuff is usually made in China. I see on their website the “filter element” is advertised as made in the USA (probably because it is K&N) but they don’t say that for the rest of the product. So, for $419 I get a part made in China (except for the filter) for probably $40 cost to the Ness family. No thanks.

95% of all Harley Davidson parts are made out of the United States.
For that matter, most everything you buy now a days is.
Your best bet to get something 100% American made is to build it yourself.
Spaz, you are right in you sentiment, but you need to be better informed before you make an attempt to be sarcastically demeaning. Let me educate you a bit:
On my precious Harley, as you say, the majority of parts are not made in the USA. Rather they are made in Mexico, although some in China but not many. Now of course the final product is made in the USA and they love to stamp things like “Milwaukee, WI” all over the place to remind me of that.
Same thing for my precious Jeep. All those Mexican parts get assembled on U.S. soil.
On my precious Victory, most parts are actually made in America and assembled there too. Good for them. That company, Polaris, is in the distinct minority.
Now any aftermarket parts on any of these “American” products will be manufactured in China, or Mexico.
Finally on my precious Honda sportbike, it has almost 100% of its parts made in Japan. By the way, that is the same country where that Honda was designed, manufactured, and assembled. They just export the final product to the U.S. for sale.
Now, which country do you think is doing it right?
There are plenty of US made air cleaner options. Performance Machine is always my first choice

I remember in the 60’s there were Made in Japan Labels on many products. I seem to recall the Products had name that were distinguishable from American products. names like Chevy, Buick, Road Runner, GE, Motorola, Admiral and RCA to name a few. Japanese products were made and displayed and their names were clearly Japanese sounding, like Sony,Toshiba, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda to name a few. We were pretty sure that American Made Products were Made in America and Japanese products were Manufactured in Japan.Those Days have long gone! It is a shame that you can Sell a $100 part for $419 and the Air Cleaner not entirely made in America. Come to think of it that Arlen Ness has always Customized American Built Iron.
