Contrary to popular belief it’s very difficult, even for a talented custom builder, to make a good living only building one-off bikes, one at a time. Reason why many of them try to market the custom parts they conceived when building their unique creations. And if they want to expand their business even more, they will try to build a concept model that they think they will be able to duplicate for clients at the fraction of the cost of the original prototype. An approach adopted by well known European builder Fred Duban, known in the industry as DUB.
But before proceeding you are better off getting a motorcycle manufacturer license and have your concept model homologated by the legal authority of the region in which you expect to market your motorcycle series. Fred Duban got all the official and very stringent European requirements, and is quite proud to be able to affix the “Dub Performance” manufacturer plate to all his machines. And of course it includes the one featured here, named DP One, that he is now offering with only one major option: the paint job of your choice. And yes, it’s a very high end road legal custom whose price (67,000 euros or about $70,000) is the result of the cost of premium components from the best vendors of the industry and of the labor involved in what must be hand- fabricated with each order.
With this new limited edition creation Duban expects international sales. As a matter of fact he already has a commercial presence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where, thanks to oil, expensive toys of all kinds are very much sought after by the locals. DP One is a modern rigid frame machine with a low mounted gas tank giving it an aggressive feline shape. Mid-shift foot controls put the rider in the mood and riding position for some street/road racing. The tech sheet below gives you an exhaustive list of the premium custom parts that Fed Duban employed. It includes the names of top quality vendors like S&S Cycle, BAKER Drivetrain, ÖHLINS. Primo Belt Drive, Performance Machine, Avon, Beringer, Rizoma, Motogadget, HD Wheels etc, and of course DUB Performance proprietary parts. And if you are not in the market for such a high end custom bike, but are just looking for great looking after-market parts that your buddies don’t know about, go to DUB Performance. that is some super nice work! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I dig this one. Great machine I would love to ride.
It got the best parts in a very appealing design.
Will be copied and copied again because it’s a superb rideable custom.
I am in love!
Both the bike and lady are class.
nice bike , looks like a fancy Exile bike . . .
70 G’s! wow. Probably chump change in UAE. Now I’m embarrassed to be seen on my $2500 bike.
DUB always do great and expensive work. New proof.
Very animal. Like very much.
Wonder how much of that 70k is the cost of all the appropriate licences so he can sell in the EU. like allot of Govt revenue collections they often like it to go through an approved lawyer who is then also on the take. I dont know if it is like that in the EU but it is in many other places.
Very cool Bike though and the chick is lovely too
Two nice looking rides.
Zundap – I’d rather have your $2500 bike!
A European modern approach,
but still top notch !!
I’d ride it, if i could afford it !!!
Johnny Speed, I’d be lucky to get $2500 for the old XLH. Bet I have more fun on mine than the owner of this one.
i like it. not so much the tank shape but the overall bike is super nice.
the model is killer! man whata sexy doll!
Sweet🖖🏽
Put a new Indian engine in it
Love the bike . Love the lovely lady . But for $70k either the lady is included in the price or you’d do just as well if not better by having some local craftsman build you the one off of your dreams rather than one of a multitude expressing the builder’s dreams . Seriously folks . $70k is a lotta cash better spent at home than abroad .
This custom bike has class. I would love to ride it! peace
I’m with Kafka on this one. The bike is AWESOME – one I’d personally want to own and ride. But the bucks are big – so this Po’Boy can only dream…
