At least they don’t call them by a new name because of the color change.

Hate to say it, but I am starting to see Victory 2.0. Hope I am wrong.

Can they get worse??? Why can’t everyone just let Indian die in peace. They were a great icon but all these reruns just get worse and worse

Gee, how sad can you get? Well, they achieved it; unbelievable 😉

Best bike I have ever rode. Confort , speed , and it handles great

Boy what a bunch of negative Nancys infest this blog! The pics perhaps don’t do these paint colors justice, they’re much nicer in the flesh. As for letting Indian “die in peace” – why would you? Triumph was successfully reborn and Royal Enfield is going strong. How about a bit of patriotic support for an iconic America brand?

Well said Doc. I like the two tone combos. I wish Indian and ALL American manufactures success.

Funny ….. apparently all the Indian Haters hang out here, because they sure as hell aren’t at the rallyies and bike nights, where Indians get a crazy amount of attention. Well, the ‘haters’ pretend with their buddies that they suck, while their ladies are salivating over the latest Indians that continue to grow in numbers. Me personally, this model is swaying some of my HD hardcore buddies over that didn’t like the valenced fenders.

Funny stuff… HD is losing market share ( for many factors ) and sales are declining, Indian is making inroads … and making great bikes…. but , keep on clicking that keyboard… and saying it ain’t so 🙂

I owned a Gilroy Indian Chief that was beautiful, but not fun to ride. I have owned Harleys since I first owned motorcycles, and I own two Harleys now. That said, I love the Indians. I loved Victory. I had fun riding Buells. I just test drove a Triumph and if I could fit another bike in my garage right now it would be the Triumph Bobber. I may be one of the older guys on this site, but isn’t motorcycling about having FUN? Indian is manufacturing a nice bike right now. Iconic, fun. Sometimes I think I am the guy that some of the haters are looking at and no doubt looking at me and saying –” I hate this or that” about my bikes. You know what I say. I have a happy, great looking woman holding on to me and I am on my way to the beach or the mountains and I am listening to classic rock, blues or soul music and I’m having fun. Wish you would join me. However, if every time we stop for a bite to eat, I have to listen to the same old nonsense about real bikers wouldn’t listen to music, or have a loud exhaust note, or how the Suzuki will leave me in the dust … whatever. Get on two wheels, have fun, be nice to others (especially those on two wheels), be careful, and enjoy life.

Sorry I am rattling on so long. Whenever I get online it is to be positive, and in my own way I am encouraging my fellow riders to enjoy this website, enjoy motorcycling, and enjoy life. God bless.

Doc. Not to mention what healthy competition does to benefit riders of both brands. Do Harley purists believe that all of MOCO’s updates to it’s touring and entry level bikes the last 3-4 years are purely coincidental?

Just let Indian die? That would have been an easy decision for Harley in 1935 with patent issues and the servicar struggles or Indian in 1939 with DOD contract issues both before some of the greatest periods in either brands histories. Yes Indian went out in 53 BUT the four and sport scouts of the post war 40s may be the reason the brand still has legs today. That same period may have given Harley the legs to pull out of the atrocious AMF years. If you choose to let brands die you aren’t a rider, you’re a troll, and you’re certainly not the one busting your ass to make American motorcycling great. Remember one thing, whether you love Indian, H-D, Triumph or Joe Snuffy’s Motorcycle Barn, competition is best for one person, the rider. The rider will enjoy product innovation and bikes that demand what the rider wants to ride, lest one of the companies admit defeat. Now go ride your favorite bikes, keep the shit talking at a minimum and thank all of these companies for all the cool shit they are about to build because of Indian grabbing up market share.

To clarify my point, I just am worried that Polaris is allowing detail and paint changes instead of new models to further the brand like they did with Victory. Not a hater, I wish them the best. But after the 156 fiasco I don’t have much hope they will make anything I would buy new.

The market just might be ready for something like an Indian version of the Dyna FXDX Sport?

NoH2oh–hang on to your shorts for a bit–it is comming-

Clarke-I hear you. We are all in this M/C thing together. Get out and enjoy life on whatever you happen to be riding. Does not matter what that is–as long as you are being honest. I am about out of room in the garage myself but there is always room for desert and another bike, just move things around a little.

Yes let this once proud american brand die and rest in peace.
What is this rendition number 5!! One of which was an out and out scam for money. This bike is about as much an Indian as a Honda. This is not the reintroduction of Indian it is “The Rape of an American Legend” No more no less

Tres belles couleurs!l’Indian a de la classe aussi!!

  19. 19 Charles Erickson May 24th, 2017 at 2:56 pm

Clarke Ahlers, do you do criminal defense in MA? If so, next time I get arrested I’ll call you. Love yer attitude.

  20. 20 Charles from MA May 24th, 2017 at 3:05 pm

I figured I would change my nom de guerre, since I was the only one to use my first and last name on the site. Charles Erickson is now Charles from MA. I don’t want to look like a square.

My best buddy has an Indian Roadmaster. He has owned several Harleys in the past, and I don’t really know why he changed. Before the Roadmaster he had a Harley trike. There’s no figuring out other people. It’s not like he saved money, as the Roadmaster cost him nearly 30 grand. To each his own.

In a way, I think the Indian brand is kind of tarnished, since this is (I think) the third incarnation of the brand. It takes away from its authenticity. But if Polaris manages to keep Indian going, it will gain a lot of credibility.

I personally think Indians are clunky and overweight. I have always preferred a lighter, more nimble bike. The Scout would be good, except for the peanut gas tank. Why they have that, I can’t imagine.

  21. 21 BobS May 24th, 2017 at 5:13 pm

Charles I can answer that for you. The Scout has a 3 gallon tank because that’s what the Sportster has. When Tillis and Blackwell were in charge of Polaris and it’s motorcycle division they were great and I had huge hopes, I even bought two Vic’s. There are some great designers, engineers, and factory workers at that company. But, since Scott Wine took over as CEO and Steve Mennetto became VP of the motorcycle division it’s become abundantly clear. Making great motorcycles is not their top priority. Convincing the general (biker) public that they are America’s oldest motorcycle company (lie) and capturing a larger part of HD’s market share is priority #1. It’s a damn shame.

  22. 22 Roberto May 24th, 2017 at 9:13 pm

Until Indian can get their P&A catalog up to speed, they will be limited in the amount of bikes they sell.

  23. 23 David Blaska May 29th, 2017 at 8:51 am

Tough crowd. I like the colors. And I’m a Harley (and Moto Guzzi) guy.
