Note A Joke. The Teutuls Back In 2018 On Discovery Channel For New American Chopper Series.

Almost six years after American Chopper closed up shop, Discovery Channel is bringing the Teutuls back to television. The network announced Wednesday the return of American Chopper to its lineup in winter 2018.

“American Chopper was one of Discovery’s most popular series ever,” said Rich Ross, Group President of Discovery.

Father-son duo Paul Teutul Sr. and Paul Teutul Jr. will once again allow cameras into their lives as they as they try to outdo each other  building custom motorcycles, Paul Sr. at Orange County Choppers and Paul Jr. at his own establishment, Paul Jr. Designs.

Can’t come up with anything new? There was a reason this show went off the air! Viewers got tired of the arguing and the Senior, Junior antics. I guess the Discovery Channel has run out of ideas for their programing!

  2. 2 Ghost of HST Oct 19th, 2017 at 8:33 am

Oh good lord . Just when we all thought we were rid of theses two like the proverbial zombie they once again rise from the dead . Suggestion ? First off don’t watch and then when Ole Yeller and Little Yeller fall to the ground : this time drive a wooden stake thru their hearts putting them out of our collective misery once and for all .

Note to Discovery ; A thousand shames upon you all .

  3. 3 Oldie But A Goodie Oct 19th, 2017 at 8:40 am

Or the Teutuls ran out of money….

  4. 4 Skeeter Oct 19th, 2017 at 8:47 am

Wow. Can’t wait to see what kind of “doo dads” & “what knots” the Old Man will try and stick on a bike. More theme bikes from Junior? Boy I hope so…. Somebody flush this turd already.

  5. 5 Xenu Oct 19th, 2017 at 9:38 am

Discover couldn’t get something better like Honey Booboo?
    Sad!

  7. 7 58_pan Oct 19th, 2017 at 10:10 am

I agree with all of the above…one more thing to add to the list of things the world didn’t need

  10. 10 chicagojohn Oct 19th, 2017 at 10:22 am

Agree with above also, but better the watching the NFL

  11. 11 richards Oct 19th, 2017 at 10:26 am

I don’t watch “Reality TV”….Not at all REAL!

  12. 12 X-HArley Rider Oct 19th, 2017 at 10:34 am

Who wants to watch 2 fools arguing with one another. Neither one designs a bike but they take credit for it.
Sanford and Son are done with the Teutuls should take up gold mining with that dumb ass Todd

  13. 13 Gym Oct 19th, 2017 at 11:00 am

I miss these guys and all you cats that are bitching will be watching too.

  14. 14 Pat Savage Oct 19th, 2017 at 11:10 am

Discovery Channel has run out of ideas for their programing and they won’t have a very profitable run this go round I predict

  15. 15 J Oct 19th, 2017 at 11:24 am

Sounds like someone ran out of money…….

  16. 16 Guy Oct 19th, 2017 at 11:54 am

Ok I confess, I do watch it. Isnt anything to do with Motorcycles, more importantly,, custom Motorcycles, on the TV a good thing? I’m sure other Builders and parts sellers will rejoice when the Dollars come rolling in. I would rather see Russ Mitchel back on the TV though, Gloucestershire’s finest.

  17. 17 fuji Oct 19th, 2017 at 12:20 pm

Possibly their show will bring out high dollar choppers that have been shoved back to the corner of the garage and not used for years.

  18. 18 James just another crazy kiwi Oct 19th, 2017 at 1:19 pm

Maybe it will be a ” Garage Built ” version…. no egos …..just cool bikes without the glitz and billet….

    lol

  19. 19 Reyn Mansson Oct 19th, 2017 at 1:23 pm

I’m willing to bet that they get all they get is 6 episodes and no additional and no renewal.
This whole thing, the unrideable chopper is dead and gone.

  20. 20 Ferris bueller Oct 19th, 2017 at 1:30 pm

    GREAT NEWS !

  21. 21 Lyle Landstrom Oct 19th, 2017 at 1:41 pm

I bet they do well. It’s the show everyone likes to talk trash about yet nobody admits they watch.

  22. 22 Bill Oct 19th, 2017 at 2:34 pm

If I wanted to watch disfunction I’d hang up being retired and go back to work. At least I’d get paid.

  23. 23 tundra Oct 19th, 2017 at 4:40 pm

I’ll admit, if it has something to do with bikes, I’ll watch. It will be interesting to see what they will build now that the industry has changed a bit. Will it be baggers, bobbers, diggers, or will they rely on their old chopper standby? I will say, if the bitching starts, I’m flipping channels.

  24. 24 rebel Oct 19th, 2017 at 5:58 pm

that’s great, they missed out on all the goofy big front wheels and monkeybars, stay tuned for seventy-two inch front billet rims and triple wide saddlebags full of amps and speakers on a 22 over chop-bagger, setting my DVR now!

  25. 25 Mike Oct 19th, 2017 at 8:42 pm

I don’t know. It’s a whole new world now for their “theme bikes.” Just consider it, they’ll have to do a “Snapchat Bike”, or maybe even a “Trump Bike”

  26. 26 JIM GADD Oct 19th, 2017 at 9:16 pm

    good

  27. 27 Tim Oct 20th, 2017 at 6:54 am

Hows that sayin go? “in rivers and bad television the lightest things float to the top” well if its not it fits

  28. 28 ROGUE Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:07 am

Well I for one will not be watch this crap.
    Hopefully neither will many others.
I suspect some will just to know that they have problems in their own life there is someone out that is worse.
    BAD BAD BAD

  29. 29 Guzzigreg Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:19 am

    Stupid is as stupid does

  30. 30 Chris G Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:26 am

Something other than choppers would be cool

  31. 31 Matt W. Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:38 am

I do miss watching custom bikes being made on TV. For that reason I will at least check it out but will have my finger firmly on the fast forward button on my DVR during the drama bits (real or fake).

  32. 32 Tom Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:52 am

    Sad
    LOL

  33. 33 JR Oct 20th, 2017 at 7:57 am

Good to see these guys back in action. Doesn’t matter what side your on they bring a lot of publicity to the market. We need this now more than ever.

  34. 34 1chopr Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:14 am

    WHAT A JOKE!

  35. 35 neal Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:15 am

Great News!…..I just puked on my keyboard

  36. 36 The one Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:16 am

The show does help bring out the the average person wanting to build bikes for them selfs and that means people selling parts in the industry!! It’s not about theme bikes it about how they build the parts to connect the viewers to the company that their building the bike for its good just saying the guys that work with them have skills no one can take that for I’m them …

  37. 37 calif Phil Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:18 am

I will watch it and hope that it puts a spark back in the motorcycling community.

  38. 38 Doug Wozney Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:20 am

Makes me glad I’ve transformed my business from bike building to custom parts design and manufacturing – reason being, people will watch this fake drama, see these contraptions being built in 2 weeks time and then go to their local custom shops with the attitude that their local shop “Should be able to do that faster, for less $$$$ because I’ve seen how it actually goes on TV”. Its entertainment for some, and maybe a little bit good for the industry, but not 100% good for the people who actually work on bikes daily to make a living.

  39. 39 Anton Oct 20th, 2017 at 8:27 am

This is fantastic news. Like it or not, this means business. Now if they would only bring back Biker Build Off. I wouldn’t even care if it was Bagger Build Off. People are gonna buy parts and we’re here to sell em.

  40. 40 Jerrman Oct 20th, 2017 at 9:29 am

Accept for what it is. Entertainment, of a sort. Faux bike building and deadlines, faux arguments and drama. But, hey, it’s about motorcycles and admittedly, as silly and uninteresting as the series got, the early years peaked and rekindled my moto interest and maybe did the same for others. So, I say bring it on and put motorcycles back in the public eye. The industry can use all the help it can get.

  41. 41 Doug Wozney Oct 20th, 2017 at 10:08 am

Agree with Anton. The Biker Build-off was the best series as it showcased many quality builders. The only thing I’d change about that show would be to have realistic time frames for those builds so the viewers would see the REAL time it takes to build dependable quality bikes.

  42. 42 pabstbluerigid Oct 20th, 2017 at 10:54 am

jus’ say no to these clowns!

give Billy Lane a show, Choppers Inc, look what he’s gone through…and his talent, paid his dues, and now to bring back the flat track/ol’ time racing…that would be worth watching.

or matt olsen & his wife…that’s a story. functional, real family with values.

    we can dream, right?

    * so sad, no new ideas. smh.

  43. 43 Roberto Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:05 am

They will only be using nos Victory parts.

  44. 44 Boss Hawg Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:25 am

I loved some of the Biker Build Offs and would love to see more.

However, Discovery couldn’t have picked a worse crew than these 2 clowns….having met them both in Myrtle Beach several years ago I still have the same opinion…total asses. I rank them right up there with the WWE theatrics but far worse.

I for one will not watch and none of riding buddies watch the dramatized crap either!

    Go enjoy Biketoberfest!

    Boss Hawg

  45. 45 KIrk Perry Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:27 am

Kinzie Bolson (speed demon) Crap on a cracker
    •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Kirk Perry We could write a couple episodes about building a twin-motor Milwaukee 48 drag-bike. Stett could set it up for you, after we sell them the script contingent on their sponsors footing the bill for everything. It would be a shame not to have California represented across the timing-light aisle from whatever the Teutuls could put together.
Or, road racers built from scratch, and I have a visual that will frighten people out of their wits. Then we’d be sitting on a Ritz …… and that’s a good cracker.

  46. 46 highrpm Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:29 am

    profanity. the dna of hollyworld.

  47. 47 Pete Salazar Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:31 am

I am glad to see Custom Motorcycle Builds coming back to television. Not only from OCC but in general. You can bad mouth OCC all you want, But they make money for all of us. Our Industry has suffered its losses ever since The Motorcyle Scene left television. Hopefully our industry will gain from this.

  48. 48 Charles from MA Oct 20th, 2017 at 11:33 am

If little brother Mike comes back, the comic factor might make it watchable. If not, I don’t think it will be any good.

  49. 49 tundra Oct 20th, 2017 at 12:35 pm

Who knows pabstbluerigid, this reboot may be the catalyst to pique interest and get builders like Billy Lane and others like him on the air.

  50. 50 Francesco Oct 20th, 2017 at 4:07 pm

Bravo!!!,j’espere que l’envie sera toujours la même!

  51. 51 Kelly Oct 20th, 2017 at 5:11 pm

Well the fat rear tire is dead, the oversize front tire is dead, some of the bikes built back then for 50k or more are selling on eBay for $7500. Slamming doors and sniveling are dead so what is left for these overexposed idiots that gave bike building a bad name? Please let them go, same for Jesse James. Why can’t it be interesting to find a normal good motorcycle mechanic that could build a bike that’s not rediculous? This has the look of a pitiful biker soap opera for people who buy SOA cuts on Amazon! I will be putting a lot of hours on my firestick avoiding this stupid pothole. This is proof the producers never understood the motorcycle community and never will!

  52. 52 Motorman Oct 20th, 2017 at 5:31 pm

They might as well bring back Son’s of Asswhipes too.

  53. 53 NoH2Oh Oct 20th, 2017 at 6:43 pm

    Pass.

  54. 54 SIGFREED Oct 21st, 2017 at 7:58 am

    Facepalm…

  55. 55 Zundap Oct 21st, 2017 at 9:13 am

I can see the first episode know. An electric bike with a springer front end and a 48″ front wheel equipped with a monster stereo system that makes engine sounds with straight pipes. They will invent some new models, Electric Chopper, no not good enough. Boom Box Springer, The Amp Bagger, High Voltage chopper? Whatever they build will not work for me. I sold my boat therefore not needing any anchors.

  56. 56 Uthinkuknowme Oct 21st, 2017 at 9:17 am

I’ll watch it just because its bike related. It’s better than American Football. Discovery should hook up with the wheels through time guys and follow them on bike finds and bike builds. Or follow a nitro Harley drag team through a season or new Indian flat track team through a season.

  57. 57 Davis Oct 21st, 2017 at 3:16 pm

Well this article brought them out of the proverbial woodwork. More estrogen than testosterone in this room.
I love the smell of gas and burning rubber first thing in the morning.
These are our soap operas and we will give them props, or just go ahead and hand in your mancards.
I have friends worse than these guys.

  58. 58 Kelly Oct 21st, 2017 at 5:24 pm

BTW speaking of biker build offs, who in the hell ever elected anyone as “chopper King””

  59. 59 Tom Ryan Oct 22nd, 2017 at 11:37 am

Why doesn’t Discovery just do a Custom Bike/Bagger Shop Tour Series without all of the infighting and melodrama etc. etc. This series could run for about 1 to 2 hours a week and feature two to four custom bike shops, custom wheel/billet parts designers, apparel and tattoo designers etc. per program since there are enough people around the whole country to take part. Discovery could even head to Europe to include the many bike shops/parts builders to really keep people interested.

  60. 60 Dick Hirschberg Oct 23rd, 2017 at 8:05 am

Can’t we just get another three seasons of Biker Build Off?

  61. 61 EASYGEAR Oct 23rd, 2017 at 8:05 am

Tom Ryan, i like that idea, i just hope if ever a series of that kind appears, that they NOT combine with tattoo and apparel themes, like anyone else seems to do.
THAT would be new really. I`m into bikes for centuries but totally uninterested in tattoos and the uniformation in clothing and apparal, it`s actually bothering to me that so much people put you as a biker or HD rider in the tattoo / chain-wallet corner…..that stuff is not of interest for every rider and where is individuality (wasn`t that once something that has to do with the chopper idea ?) if all bike owners look the same as if a uniformation would be necessary ?

  62. 62 Dave Oct 23rd, 2017 at 8:24 am

If Discovery Channel is reading this, why not just have a 1/2 hour show similar to Motorweek but just about custom motorcycles and new builders- hosted by someone in the know- how bout it Mr. Huze?
    I’d watch that!

  63. 63 Mdkuder Oct 23rd, 2017 at 9:26 am

American Choppers – sure! I would love to see them build (modify) a bike and race it in Roland Sands’ Super Hooligan Racing Series. Who would ride it?

  66. 66 Zenaldo Oct 23rd, 2017 at 12:44 pm

Enough already…just go away please..these 2 haven’t had an original thought between them in decades..

  67. 67 Ray Hanner Oct 23rd, 2017 at 12:53 pm

If their stupidity would fly, they both would be jets.

  68. 68 takehikes Oct 23rd, 2017 at 3:20 pm

Let me know when they build something worth having.

  69. 69 Badams Oct 25th, 2017 at 12:20 am

  72. 72 Xenu Oct 26th, 2017 at 11:53 am

    Badams,
I just had to repost this link. It’s truly worth a thousand words and exceeds even what was on the old episodes.

    http://pauljrdesigns.com/bike/azeroth-choppers-team-horde/

BTW I have no idea what a nil is, so I get to slam the Pauls.

  73. 73 James Oct 27th, 2017 at 8:36 pm

Discovery – are you watching these comments? Says a lot.

  74. 74 Pat h Oct 28th, 2017 at 9:00 pm

Those guys put more people on bikes and kept more small shops or new start up shops in business(for good or bad) than any of the naysayers on here that includes a lot of euro/jap shops, they may not be the best builders but they made a impact on the industry, alot of builders should be sending royalty checks to the discovery channel for getting them started

  75. 75 Fast Fred Oct 30th, 2017 at 11:15 am

So, the boys are back in town with another TV show! Don’t you all find it ironic we bitch and complain about bringing back their series, and all the great new builders out there don’t get noticed? We may love or hate them, BUT THEY got the TV show!! (Again, ugh!)

  76. 76 unkle barry May 14th, 2018 at 2:11 pm

Please no,not going to watch, there are some good ideas for M/C shows hope discovery reads,,,,,

  77. 77 westerner Jun 13th, 2018 at 7:26 pm

I loved the show, except I felt Paul Sr. needed anger management. He cursed Paul Jr all the time and favored goofy Mikey (who did nothing). Senior still cannot see that he is pretty well hard to live with and has brought on the troubles. Although Paul Jr. doesn’t show it, I think it must really hurt to be cussed at, cursed and spoken to like a worm most of his life. You don’t play favorites with your children. Looks like Mikey couldn’t do anything wrong, yet he did nothing!!! I see everyone working except Paul Sr. I’m a 66 year old mother/grandmother and it hurt me just to watch Sr. attack Jr. all the time. I hope they can work this out and that Jr. won’t continue this behavior with his son.
