New Finish For Your Wheels. Hydrographics Printing.

HD Wheels has been since many years the address to go to for fancy wire wheels with rims, hubs spokes and nipples finished in polished, chrome, black chrome, black nickel, gold plating, anodizing (for aluminum parts) and powder coating finishes.

And now, starting this month, Andrei Rybkin is offering a new type of finishing option for motorcycle wheels.

This new technique is based on Hydrographics printing. To achieve the finish seen here, your wheel is going through 3 steps.

Initially the rim or the hub is specially treated and a base color coat is applied. Next, a desired pattern print (carbon fiber, wood grain, flame imitations or art design) is adhered to get a needed look. Then, after careful examination everything is sealed with a very high quality hard top clear coat to withstand riding abuse.

Reserved to those wishing their motorcycle to roll on the most artful wheels on the road.

Hydrographics has been around for quite a while now with lots of people using it to do motorcycle parts. The graphics are getting better all the time though and I can see this adding another dimension to the wheels. It’s JMHO but the wood grain graphic really doesn’t belong on a bike but hey; it’s our differences that make the world so full of spice. A word of caution, and I’m not sure this is still true, but there was some concern about the graphics sun fading some time back. They may have some kind of ultraviolet protection coating on them now. Probably good to ask first.
