Youngest Bike Builders Competing In Sturgis.

I met Joey & Cody Cihak about 2 years ago. It was during a bike show in Florida. They were introduced to me and first, I thought that they were just young fans wanting a picture & signature. They were really my fans like they are fans of all professional custom builders. For a simple reason: at their very young age (now respectively 16 and 12 years old) they were already building bikes in their backyard and have the ultimate dream to make it their profession. Then 1 month ago in Orlando I met them again, this time with their parents Joe & Dina. Around a cup of coffee we talked about their first trip to Sturgis. I saw the excitation in the eyes of Joey & Cody at the idea of participating to the 7 South Dakota bike shows. And today I just learned that they are the most talked after builders in Sturgis. They have the total support of their parents and it’s what makes beautiful this little story. So, next time you are visiting a bike show, look for them, check out their work and encourage them. More we have good builders, better is our industry. .

it’s really cool for me and my boys to see these kids doing such incredible things!!

I am trying my best to keep the industry alive up here in Canada with my after school program that has the kids building custom bicycles and this year we are building our first custom motorcycle. We started with a simple bobber but you have to start somewhere, right??

There are a few groups like ours out there, to the best of my knowledge, (looking for someone to prove me wrong) we are the only ones in Canada. Kevin Baas and the kids up at Kennedy High School in Minnesota have been going for 4 or 5 years now!!

Please support these kids!!! This helps them, the industry and is just plain cool to give back, you know?

If we all did a little bit, it would make such a difference!!
