Well before the retro trend, I always loved the mix or aluminum with copper or brass, not only on bikes but also for my home decoration (will not show you today). But in my own humble opinion, too much copper or brass can be very tacky. And I see this excess on many new vintage custom bikes. Joel Felty, the head of Headwinds, got the good idea to release a brass & aluminum headlight with just enough brass on it to give your bike a true classic look. It’s a 5 3/4" headlight (I never go above this size on my bikes) with spun aluminum housing and a brass plated clamp ring and bracket. The brass part has been clear coated to prevent oxidation. It will install on a ¾” wide mounting block sold also by the same company. Available at Headwinds.

Pretty cool, but it should also be offered in reverse brass/aluminum and in a smaller size (4 1/2″) for a true vintage appearance.
True, anything bigger than this size of light looks odd to me.i agree with tim, should be offered in reverse finish scheme.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold a lot of these! Very nicely done in my opinion.
First off, we would like to thank Cyril Huze for this post. We really appreciate it.
This headlight and the many other headlights that we offer are available in many combinations. We have 4 1/2″, 5 3/4″ and 7″ as well. Anyone of these headlights are available with this brass and aluminum combo or reverse with a brass housing and aluminum clamp ring and bracket. This headlight is also available in a 4 1/2″.
Thank you.
Headwinds.
