She Deserves To Be Miss Sturgis 2008. Help Sasha.

I know Sasha Mullins since quite a few years and she is a sister of the road. I agree with her that Miss Sturgis should not only be an attractive woman but a real biker who rides every year to the Black Hills event. So, she wants to get the title and use it to promote great causes. Below her letter asking for your support. Of course, she already got mine.
‘My pilgrimage on my motorcycle to the Black Hills for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota every year is a high octane, fun and spirited event.  As a chrome cowgirl, I feel like I’m blazin’ trails on my chrome horse as I gallop through the wild west en route to one of the most soulful landscapes in America.  I’m entering the Miss Sturgis contest to roarrrr new meaning to the title.   To me this title is about the ride!  It’s about the rally!   And of course it’s about being a girl who lives and breathes motorcycles.
As most of you know, I love to ride my motorcycle to the rally (never trailer, fly, etc)  and I treasure the state of South Dakota, its people and its history.  I honor the legacy of the motorcycle rally and races and its co-founders Pearl and J. Clarence "Pappy" Hoel, (Mr. Hoel also founded the Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club).  Pearl will forever be known to me as "The Pearl of the Rally."  I’m also all about supporting girls who ride motorcycles and seeing more female energy thundering across the country wearing big s’miles.  July 2008 is the release date of my new book called Chrome Cowgirl’s Guide to the Motorcycle Life by Motorbooks International. So, for the above heartfelt reasons I have decided to enter this contest and capture the title of Miss Sturgis and promote it for great causes.
The voting is done by people’s choice. Info is here at Miss Sturgis   I would be so honored if you would vote for me by going to this URL and clicking on my photo at Miss Sturgis Contest. You can also read much more about the contest there.  There are four voting rounds therefore Cyril will remind you this message when the next round comes up again.  The voting starts over on Feb. 16, March 1, March 15 and the final three will move to the finalists on March 29. Miss Sturgis will be chosen by April 19th. I appreciate you all so much in my life.  Thank you dearly for taking the time to read this message and for considering to vote for me! Peace and love’. Sasha Mullins

I’ve known this honey of the highway for a number of years. She truely is a sweetheart and does deserve to be Miss Sturgis.

Of course, the fact that she’s also quite the hottie doesn’t hurt either..

You have my vote too. But be easy on us older guys and gals who have no choice but to trailer our rides. Years on the roads and working can take a big toll on our bodies.
We too were once young but we still love to go to Sturgis to see beautiful bikes and people.
    Good luck kid.

Oh beautiful friend of the road, Steve, I understand the need for trailering a motorcycle, too. And YOU are forever young and vibrant….because YOU are heart and soul. God bless you and thank you very much for your vote. Thanks to everyone…and a very special thank you to Cyril for sharing …..

A real motorcyclist for Miss Sturgis, this is what it should have been about years ago. Real people. Any female that actively rides has my vote and good on you for stepping up to the plate and publicizing it.

For the Indian record (and as lonely as it is), Pappy Hoel was an Indian dealers and Sturgis started out being an Indian event. Seems like 1 or 2 Harleys seem to have penetrated the event these days.

Having the opportunity of spending some time with this wonderful woman at last years Great SmokeOut Salisbury NC, (and having her pose on one of our bikes for a cover) i can say there would be no better spokesperson and representative of this industry than Ms. Sasha. It’s about time we got actual “biker chicks” doing these events instead of “trailer queens” that just show up and have their chrome shined. You got my vote Sasha!
