Billy Lane Opens His Diaries

Want to take a sneak peek at Billy Lane Diaries? I am sure you want. Billy informed me that he just finished his Diaries, at least for now because there is always another page to fill and another bike to build to chronicle our daily lives. Diaries are a place where each of us has an opportunity to express our deepest self. And when you are a custom motorcycle builder, it’s all about our inspiration, our personal thoughts and ideas when building something unique, never seen before. So, Billy decided, and I think it’s a great idea, that he will let you enter in his life (and in his shop), showing you how he imagines, fabricates and builds his bikes. And since we belong to the digital age, Billy does it with style through superbly filmed and edited videos. Billy will continue to record his work in progress and, evidently, for the pleasure of all custom motorcycle fans, he is writing his professional video autobiography. Billy Lane Diaries.

Billy is a real talented individual in the motorcycle industry who actually builds motorcycles that are ridable

I really dig Billy’s work. Along with Detroit Bros. and Nash. Quirky but functional. Great creativity.

I read this blog since more than 1 year. Never commented before. Cyril, you are the only builder publicly supporting other builders (and manufacturers). It”s why I respect you a lot. Thank u for all what you do for the industry.

Great fabrication stuff by Billy Lane. But these bikes are only to brand his name and for exhibition. Would like to see him build EPA compliant bikes.

I saw Billy’s Henderson bike at the Columbus show. Absolutely beautiful and classy. I’m always impressed with his stuff. He’s one of the builders that inspires me. Several years ago I was planning to build my first custom bike and tried talking to some well known builders with no luck. Billy was so down to earth and actually talked to me like he knew me for years. He also gave me some very valuable tips on the build. Look for it in an up coming issue of Easyrider.
Cyril when will his diaries be available?

He should just fade away after what he did. A drunk who killed a rider.

  15. 15 Don Henry Apr 22nd, 2008 at 12:29 pm

Jeff, this blog is about custom motorcycles. Nothing else. Let Billy do his work. Peace.

Don, I agree with Jeff!! Why to we need to glorify and revere a killer or his work! That’s part of what’s wrong with the world and America Today!! No one care’s about anything but their own Pleasure(watching Billy build bikes or doing his video diaries). All I see it as is another way to get into your pocket and put it in his.I say put him to work busting rocks in a good old fashion chain gang and then maybe he’ll have some good diaries to provide lesson’s to the youth of America that our right’s as citizen’s doesn’t mean it’s just A FREE FOR ALL!!!!

    RE;
‘…what’s wrong with the world and America Today!! No one care’s about anything but their own Pleasure…”

No, that’s simply one of the many options in a free society.

    RE:
“….I say put him to work busting rocks …”

Thankfully, in America none of us have the right or ability to “put” anyone to anything (work or otherwise)….. Yet, anyway.

    We have a system.
As bad as you may think it is, it’s the best one man has ever developed.
Compared to every other place on earth, there is NOTHING wrong with America.
    Hopefully we won’t loose it.

The problem with America is people are guilty until proven innocent(not what our forefathers thought). I dont think celebs should have special treatment and money shouldnt be able to buy you freedom, but sometimes those things happen. Billy will have his day in court and none of us should be his judge or jury.

If you dont like our judicial system, why dont you move to another country? No one forces you to be here.

  19. 19 Tom Goodrich Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:01 pm

He is awaiting trial. Nobody has the right to judge him. He continues to build beautiful bikes. It’s admirable.

  20. 20 G Apr 22nd, 2008 at 6:11 pm

every choice has consequences…..Billy is living with the consequences of his choices and he knows it. His paradox is that his street cred was built upon his hardcore lifestyle….yet that lifestyle may be his professional ruin..it’s already cost him a nice corporate sponsorship…I don’t judge or condemn him….I know his punishment lives within his soul, regardless of what the judicial system outcome is.

Please,if you do not know the whole story keep your comments to your self.I for one know. thanks and Aloha

I do believe in our system even though it is tilted in favor of the rich and famous.Money does buy a whole lot any more.If you live the hardcore lifestyle then die by it and that goes for everyone.I am not perfect either just ask the IRS that I,m paying every month for back taxes. But then when I was alot younger I drank at home not on the street.Maybe it’s just my age (56) and my up bringing that has taught me better!!!I have ridden since I was old enough to buy my first bike (16) and have a lot of road experence but have never gotten in a car or on bike while drinking or drunk. Sure it’s a privilege to be able to live your own lifestyle it’s not a RIGHT and most people think they have the RIGHT to do what they PLEASE. They just dont.IF you dont think I’m right just start reaing a little more. As you see here I have the RIGHT to free speech. Thanks;David

Yap, ….right or wrong… -that is reality-

    You’ve made good choices.
Some of us had to learn the hard way ( and paid the consequences)….. 🙁

    RE:
“…As you see here I have the RIGHT to free speech…”

Yap, absolutely…. And many of us went into the service, just for that RIGHT.

    Ya done good…… 🙂
