Lady Golden Deliverance

deliverance1deliverance2deliverance3You hit 50 and start your golden years. The kids are University bound. You and your husband realize that the big city rat race doesn’t make any sense anymore. Sell the big business and with him go back to the farm. On it, let him build a 3000 sq. feet custom fabrication shop. Spend quality time with him at home and on the road. Kim is the wife of well known custom builder Steve “Brewdude”Garn. And when it was time to celebrate their deliverance from the never ending and pointless pursuit of affluence Steve decided to build a new bike for Kim.

Not by adding a 3rd wheel to an existing bike. Quite the opposite, by starting for his wife a new one from the ground up and using the motor he loves the most, a Harley Flathead. This one from 1945 with altered cases for use with a modified Ironhead oil pump and fitted with a Lectron carburetor. Frame is one of his owns called the “Brew 4130 Double Down Loop” and lugged (“Brew” specializes in frames). Transmission is genuine 4-speed Harley with ratchet top. Fuel tank comes from a Honda Elsinore and he hand fabricated the oil tank. Front end (engraved with his name) and both wheels (mounted with Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara) come from a 1972 XL 250. The seat comes from Bitwell and made comfortable by using Rockshox suspension. Amazingly, the bike weights only 321 pounds, is as agile blasting on the dirt and gravel roads of North Carolina than twisting on the roads of the Black Hills of South Dakota. Exactly what Kim didn’t know she wanted for her birthday . It’s a winner on the road and also in bike shows. “Golden Deliverance” got 1st in Class at the New-Orleans Easyriders show and just got a Best O Show in Sturgis. Brew Bikes in Creston, NC.
