This weekend, for a change, it will be nice for me to mingle with racers on the Salts, although they are all, of course, also custom builders and evidently more expert at engine tuning that most of us are….
As I told you, for the new edition of the Bonneville Bub Speed Trials, there is a big and strong Swiss delegation led by Land Speed Legend Sam Wheeler (in 2006 he drove the EZ-Hook Streamliner up to 355 mph, but could not have his speed recorded because of a blown tire to race the mandatory return run). And of course he is here for not less than getting the new ultimate Land Speed Record. New and interesting. First, 3 out of the 6 Swiss bikes will premiere and run the new E85 fuel. Second, legendary Swiss tuner Fritz Egli will go for the supercharged sidecar record. 3rd, the team is accompanied by the formerly fastest female rider on the planet Leslie Porterfield. More this weekend. Swiss Performance. (photography Horst Rosler)
