What is the remedy to some pop-up gas caps leaking gas by the vent? Simply, a non vented gas cap to use with a vented gas tank.

Don’t understand the issue here…I have 2 radical customs that I have built using Pop-up gas caps that do not leak while riding or parked and they are vented!
However, I will state that they are more for show than anything else, PERIOD! If you paint the bung to match as I have, you must use extreme caution when removing/installing the pop-up cap and inserting/removing the pump nozzle to prevent/minimize damage to the painted bung. If you ride like I do, then by all means use another style of gas cap that is conducive to filling your tank especially after a few beers…wink wink.

I have had a few problems with gas vapor leaking from the cap and getting under the paint around the cap ….. it friggin sucks because it always seems to happen on the big dollar paint jobs and not on the base coat/clear coat, easy to repair, paint jobs.
Don has used this system on his gas tanks for some time now and I have never had a paint issue when using his tanks with this cap.

Pretty sure Hotch licenses the use of that. Ain’t too much different than the old Carlini one too.
I have a hot match on my 04 custom and have had to paint it twice.If the paint gets chipped around the hole it will eat it up in minutes. ready for something new any suggestions?
