There are quite a few modified Triumph Thruxton, but probably none respecting so well the iconography of a racing legend with modern materials, design and technology. Welcome to the Ace 904 Special created by Tony Scott of T3 Racing (he also runs the Triumph Triple Challenge racing series) in conjunction with the Ace Café and Stonebridge Motor Company. A production run of only 15 is planned for this “Best Of British”, agile, light, very fast going, superbly looking and highly modified Thruxton Triumph.
The engine is a revamp of the popular popular Thruxton EFI engine producing a 35% increase in power (compression 9. 9:1) to include more mid range performance with a maximum 80 bhp at the back wheel at 8000 rpm and maximum 60b ft of torque at 4500 rpm. A combination of high high lift camshafts and re-engineering throttle bodies produces an exciting ride whilst maintaining the reliability of the British Twin.
Suspension is race bred with an upside down 43 mm forks (120 mm travel) fitted with 20 mm road and track cartridge units. Floating discs are 310 mm and fitted with 6-piston brakes. Rear suspension is via twin mono shocks delivering 130 mm of travel. A “plug and play” electronic dash features 4 different display modes and provides information about the motorcycle EMS (engine Management system.) Like on MotoGP, the Ace 904S is fitted with the quickshifter system to ensure quick smooth accelerations.
As a final touch elegance and style was added with a high quality pearlescent paint and airbrushed Ace emblems. To own one of the 15 produced will set you back £15,999 or about $25,100. Info and orders at Stonebridge MoCo. information@stonebridgemotorcompany.com
