2-Wheel Flyer

During the Sturgis AMD World Championship of Bike Building there is a class called “Production Manufacturer” sponsored by Accel Motorcycle Products welcoming those claiming at least 50 models produced annually. And this year the winner came from Spain with an aggressive sporty looking model appropriately called “Flying” weighting only 211 kg (460 pounds)

The bike takes its stance from a beautifully shaped and tig welded 6061T6 aluminum custom frame with 24.5 degree of rake with oil tank in the top tube and battery placed between the carbon fiber tank 2 halves. Italian racing influence is present thanks to a modified Ducati swingarm and the use of 17″ Marchessini wheels (front 120/70, rear 190/50) dressed in continental rubber ad slowed by Brembo brakes (4-piston front, 2-piston rear) pinching full floating rotors (320 mm front, 220 mm rear.) 110″ engine is from Rev Tech and narrow driveline from BDL. Like it. Make me think of a bike from Roland Sands!

What if Buell did or Harley would produce in this style for 15K. Would youngsters jump on it?

Jeffrey-probably not, but their dads might? Kids I know would grab a ZX14 and lots of change if they had $15k to spend on a sportbike.

similar to confederate but more utilitarian/industrial type…design is very inspiring among builders.

I’m with Paul here, it does seem like it derives a lot of its style from the confederate wraith…. but I think that’s great. The wraith was/is groundbreaking in its design and execution and to see that being emulated in new styles from other companies is great. I’m a young guy and I’d take something tough and industrial looking like this over a run of the mill superbike any day. Young guys want to go fast and get girls. I’m sure this would suffice for both purposes.
